District-Wide Keyboarding Contest: April 22 - May24
Now, more than ever, the need for students’ early keyboarding skills has proven to be crucial for their success both inside and outside of the classroom.
If students begin practicing on a keyboard without proper training, they may create their own less efficient methods of typing.
Because of this reality, we will be taking advantage of this opportunity from Learning.com and host a a district-wide typing contest for PK-8th grade students.
Winners get prizes!
The teacher with the PK-2nd class that has the highest class participation will win a $25 Visa gift card.
The elementary (3rd-5th) and middle school student with the most keyboarding practice time and their teachers, will each win a $25 Visa gift card. In addition, the top 10 elementary and the top 10 middle school students will receive a special certificate of recognition. If the winning student has multiple teachers, then the gift card will go to whichever teacher had the student participate in the keyboarding practice. If the student participated in multiple teachers' classrooms, then each of those teachers' names will be put in a drawing for the gift card.
In addition, I will personally do a separate contest that includes PK-5th grade. I will do a drawing for a $20 Erin Condren gift card. If your students participate in the typing contest, your name will automatically be added into the drawing.
