Go Green at Home Challenge
Get ready for the “Go Green at Home Challenge” coming during National Recycling Week (November 6-12, 2023). This “Go Green at Home Challenge” is for staff, students, and their families. The entire student body is invited to participate in this Green Week Challenge.
We’ve created a bingo-style board of themed actions that students and their families can do for the environment during this week. The Bingo Board is in Google Form to help cut down on paper and help the environment. The Google Form is linked here. As challenges are completed, make note of it so that you can accurately complete the Google Form at the end of next week. Complete 5 actions (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to win! Once you’ve completed those actions, be sure to submit your Google Form. Bonus points for shared photos of you and your family completing the challenges in action!
Families As Reading Partners
To celebrate the end of the first Unit of Reading Workshop, family members from Ms. Montano's class were invited to read alongside their child during independent reading, and read with a small group during partner reading last Thursday. During this time, family volunteers received a packet of our Building Good Habits and Good Habits for Solving Hard Words anchor charts to refer to when supporting the students. No question about it... reading together is priceless!

CHOP PJ Day
It's that time of year when we start planning for our annual Pajama Day to support the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. We started this tradition in 2020 and we are looking for another successful year where our community comes together to support a very deserving organization.
Our goal in 2020 was $1,000 and we raised $5,035. In 2021, we set a goal of $2,000 and beat that by raising $3,569. Last year, we set a goal of $2,000 and continued to beat our goal by raising $4,377. That is a total of $12,981 over three years!!
Let's see if we can keep this tradition going and beat our goal again this year. We are setting our sights higher and are hoping to bring in (or over) $3,000. Please share the link to the donation website with our school community and encourage people to give what they are able to. We will all join together as a district on December 1st to wear our pajamas and show our unity in supporting the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Sustainable Jersey - PSA Submission for NES Students!
All it takes is a student, possibly along with their family, working together to complete and submit this form with a suggested, BRIEF Public Service Announement focused on one of our Sustainability themes. Suggested PSA's will be considered and then potentially scheduled to take place during the respective month.
We look forward to our students being stewards of our community's sustainability efforts.
