Have you reviewed the latest index score for your school? The Michigan School Index System measures public school performance in seven key areas. Schools receive credit in each area based on the degree to which it meets the state targets and an overall index value ranging from 0-100. The system is used to identify schools for support. The latest release was made public on November 29th. You can search for your school's index at mischooldata.com. If you need assistance interpreting or exploring, please contact your Wayne RESA liaison or utilize these Michigan School Index resources.

This month two Wayne County districts represented by four schools participated in the MACUL Student Technology Showcase. The Student Showcase took place on December 7th at the new Heritage Hall at the Michigan State Capitol Building. Students presented to lawmakers, business leaders, and other Michiganders to show first-hand how technology is used in classrooms across Michigan.

K-12 student teams representing their schools from around the state demonstrated how technology can enhance teaching and learning for the success of Michigan students. Each team consisted of a maximum of four students and one mentor, with 24 teams total participating from across the state. Our Wayne County participating schools were:

• Academy of the Americas-Detroit Public Schools Community District
• Martin Luther King HS-Detroit Public Schools Community District
• Neinas Dual Learning Academy-Detroit Public Schools Community District
• Northville High School-Northville Public Schools

We would like to give a big shout-out to these schools for their amazing representation from Wayne County and Southeast Michigan.
