What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is an emerging field with ancient roots. It begins with the premise that we are already whole, already perfect. There is nothing to change or fix. The path to healing is through the practice of self-awareness to acknowledge this wholeness on the deepest level. We learn to be grounded in the reality of the present moment, not in our personal storylines, fears, memories or expectations. Yoga Therapy is a comprehensive lifestyle education, particularly well-suited to contemporary stress-related chronic illnesses. Bridging psychotherapy and physical therapy, yogas tools and philosophy are combined with modern mind / body medicine. It complements western medicine, helping patients avoid unnecessary surgery, medication, and suffering.
