TMHS Wildcat Choir
September 11-17
District Mock Auditions
All students auditioning for the TMEA All-State process are expected to participate in mock auditions on Monday afternoon. Students may stay after school. We will distribute cuts and sing through the mock cuts beginning at 3:30pm. Mock auditions will begin at 4:00. Please see the sheet below with the current order of singers. When students are done auditioning, they are free to leave. Comments will be distributed at the end of the mock auditions and Tuesday during school.
District Auditions
District Auditions will be on Saturday, September 16th at Oak Ridge High School(27330 Oak Ridge School Rd. Conroe, TX 77385). All students will meet at TMHS in the choir room by 6:30am wearing their TMHS Choir T Shirt. We will provide a bus to Oak Ridge HS, but students may also drive and follow the bus. When students are finished auditioning, they are free to leave and can call parents at the parent monitored phone table. There will also be a bus provided back to TMHS at the conclusion of the audition. Please see information below in regard to Oak Ridge HS and District Auditions:
Students will not find out the cuts or their audition times until Saturday morning.
Students may bring a book, homework, games, etc. while waiting at the audition. Students should bring original copies of the auditioned music (Cum Sancto Spiritu, Only In Sleep, Terre-Neuve or Non Havea), a water bottle, snacks, and a pencil. We will provide paper clips and other music marking supplies.
CONCESSIONS FOR STUDENTS
Support the ORHS Choir by purchasing items from their concession stand! Here's a list of items they will sell:
Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza
Beverages (Bottled Water, Dr. Pepper, Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite)
Chips and Assorted Snacks
Candy
We will have a station for students to purchase tickets ($1=1 Ticket), then they will use the tickets to purchase food items. If students purchase 10 tickets ($10), they will receive an additional 2 tickets.
PARKING
When you arrive, all vehicles (including buses) should enter the rear parking lot (next to the football stadium) and enter the the building through the red double doors labeled #48 & 49. Buses will drop off next to the building near these doors and park near the baseball field.(we will send an annotated map this week).
ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, students will go to their assigned rooms to register, warm up, and be taken through cuts. Oak Ridge HS will have ample signage directing singers to their appropriate rooms.
Sopranos - Cafeteria
Altos - Auditorium
Tenors - Orchestra Room
Basses - Band Hall
Chaperones wait in either the Cafeteria or Gym (they are right next to one another).
REGISTRATION
Once in their registration room, students in voice parts with multiple zones (sopranos, altos and maybe baritones) should find the posted list to determine the zone in which they will be auditioning. Once they know their zone, they will go to the registration table to sign for their badge.
All students should be prepared to stay in their assigned registration/warm-up areas for a while with their water and music, etc. The first 20 singers will go directly to their audition rooms from here. Students will also need to follow directions regarding line up and appropriate times to go to the restroom.
Registration opens at 7:30 am and closes at 8:30. Students arriving after 8:30 am will not be permitted to audition unless they are a LATE request with their entry. LATE requests must arrive and register by 12:30 pm to ensure they get to audition.
AUDITION PATH
After the first 20 have left the registration room to audition, all remaining singers will be dismissed to the cafeteria/gyms when instructed. Any personal items (books, water bottles, etc) will have to travel with them when they leave their warm-up room. After their audition, students will be directed to the Cafeteria, where they will be allowed to call their parent (FROM THE CELL PHONE TABLE) to pick them up. Students who are waiting until the end of the contest for results will remain in the cafeteria/gyms.
WARM UP
During the "warm up" the students will go through the cuts 2 times per section (e.g., Alto 1 2x, Alto 2 2x). The cuts will not be rehearsed again. Students may vocalize after that point but may not practice the audition music. You can only sing the cut material for your designated section. In other words, a soprano 1 cannot sing through the cuts again with the soprano 2s. This is a violation of the audition process and will be enforced.
LINE UP
In their warm up rooms, students will be lined up in groups of 10. Once the first 10 are sent to the audition rooms, the next 10 will be called to lineup.
NOTE ABOUT RESTROOMS
Students should take care of any personal needs prior to going to registration. If they are in the first group of 30 (or have requested an EARLY time), there won’t be an opportunity to use the restroom until after their audition. If students ask to go to the restroom before 9am, the answer will be NO.
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES
There are no electronic devices allowed at the audition. This includes smart watches.
There are no musical instruments allowed at the audition.
Chaperones and parents can use electronic devices but may not allow students to use them. Please use a safe distance when operating a device in proximity of students.
Students WILL be allowed to call for parent pick-up at the cell phone table, monitored by the adult at the table.
We will collect all TMHS electronic devices upon arriving at ORHS and they may be collected as the student leaves or at the end of the audition process.

Below is the presentation and notes from the Interest meeting.
NYC Payment Schedule
Students and chaperones should be paid up to $1500 by this time.
Remaining payments listed below:
October: $300
November: $300
December: Final Balance
If you have missed previous months payments, you can make multiple purchases of the current month to catch up. Unfortunately, each month's link expires at the end of the month.

NYC Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance
We did find a travel insurance company that you are able to purchase through if you would like. The link for trip insurance is for each individual traveler, for some will not want to pay for insurance. Each traveler must arrange for their own trip insurance. With this particular company, for anyone 17 and under, insurance is free with the addition of a paid for adult.
WiddyUP Fundraiser
All students are participating in our first fundraiser, WiddyUP! Students must upload their videos to WiddyUP as a performance grade, but students are not required to put in emails to send out their fundraiser.
Raise serious funds towards NYC trip and other choir needs with WiddyUP!
We have already created a WiddyUP fundraiser to be used to help fundraise for the trip. The kick-off date is Friday, June 16th. We highly encourage you to take advantage of this fundraiser as it is not a ton of work on students or families. Many of our students participated in this fundraiser last year so the set up should be easy! Simply create your account, pitch video, fundraising video, and share, share, share!! The information to get signed up with WiddyUP is below:
Sign up below.

STEP 1
Create and upload your first video, called the "pitch to friends & family": asking for donations from your family and friends and telling them what you’re going to do for the talent show.
● Say your name what you’re helping your school raise money for, your dollar amount goal, and what you are going to showcase in your next video for donors that support you.
STEP 2
This is how you raise money. Share your pitch to friends & family video with your family and friends.
● Once your pitch is uploaded and approved, you will receive an email telling you to log into your WiddyUP account, go to your homepage, and share your video with family and friends.
STEP 3
This is how you reward your donors for supporting your cause! Create and upload your second video, called the "follow-through": showing donors your talent or interest.
● Have fun while sharing your talent or interest with your donors!
Possible Pitch Script:
Hello, My name is ___________. We are raising funds for the Tomball Memorial Choir Program’s performance at Carnegie Hall and other Choir Needs with Widdy UP! I’m asking for your help with two things:
First, please make the small donation of $5 (or more!) to watch my short performance video.
Second, please send this link to 10 of your closest family or friends who would be willing to support a worthwhile cause. Let’s see if we can make this video go Viral!
Thank you for your time, kind consideration, and small donation.
