Hello! My name is Mr. McCready and I am assigned to students with last names A-G. This will be my first year here at Prairie Ridge!


Some fun facts about me include:

  • I was born and raised in Minnesota

  • I graduated from Luther College (where I played baseball) and Loras College

  • I have two sisters: Megan (older) and Abby (younger)

  • My dog’s name is Winnie

  • I love the Minnesota Vikings and Twins

  • I have coached baseball and football

  • Being active is something I am very passionate about

Hello! My name is Ms. Northway and I am assigned to students with last names H - O. I will be going into my 27th year in education. This will be my 16th year in Ankeny Community Schools.


Some fun facts about me include:

  • I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa

  • I graduated from University of Iowa and Drake University

  • My husband, Andy, and I have 3 children (Hunter, Spencer, and Halle) and two dogs

  • I like gardening, watching movies, and streaming TV shows

  • I am a breast cancer survivor

  • I am a Hawkeye fan

  • Most recently, we’ve gotten into off-roading with our Jeep

Hello, PR! My name is Mrs. Danner Dove and I am assigned to students with last names P-Z. This will be my first year at Prairie Ridge and I am so excited to be a Jag! Before Ankeny, I was a School Counselor in Urbandale for 11 years.


Some fun facts about me:

  • I am an Ankeny graduate and attended Prairie Ridge myself!
  • I have a 2 year old daughter who keeps me very entertained.
  • My dog, Kenneth, is treated much like a second child.
  • I went to Iowa State University but am a loyal Hawkeye fan.
  • I'm a huge Cubs fan. My husband and I try to watch them play in a different stadium each season. So far we've been to 5 different ball parks. Only 25 more to go! 😉

Hi, PR!

My name is Heidi Zwick and I will be the School Social Worker at Prairie Ridge this year. I will serve all students and work closely with Mr. McCready, Ms. Northway, and Ms. Danner Dove.


Some fun facts about me include:

  • This is my 13th year in education; 7th year in Ankeny.

  • I enjoy biking and other outdoor activities during the summer.

  • I have attended all 3 universities in Iowa but I am a lifelong Iowa State fan.

HOW DO I CONNECT WITH MY SCHOOL COUNSELOR OR SOCIAL WORKER?

Students can connect with their counselor or school social worker the following ways:

  • Completing the Student Services Referral Form (also found on Canvas)
  • Stopping by the office before or after school
  • Scheduling an appointment via email or in the office
  • Parent referral (email/phone call)
