Principal's Message
Parents and Students,
I am super proud of our Lion students and staff, their commitment to safety and helping us comply with new expectations. 95% of them are doing what they need to make this a successful year, which is something to celebrate. Only with consistency, grit, and a positive attitude can we create a Legacy of Excellence!
Students, you are doing an amazing job and the we are off to an Randle-riffic start! Our seniors are setting great examples as they lead the way with our expectations.
We have a lot happening at Randle High School and would love for everyone to come out and support our Lions.
- Volleyball season is off to a great start and they just finished competing in the LCISD tournament.
- Tennis is hitting nothing but aces as they have started the fall season red hot!
- Cross County is working hard every morning as they prepare for our district meet.
- Theatre just concluded their auditions for our fall musical. I hope I made the cut Ms. McManus.
- Student Council had their interest meeting and are getting ready to provide an Enchanting Evening for New Coming Week.
- Band, Color Guard, Randle Royals, Cheer, and Football recognized senior students during Thursday's game versus Pasadena Memorial. The varsity football team started the season with a bang, shutting out Pasadena Memorial 47-0.
- The student section at the game was OUTSTANDING and made their presence felt. Our goal is to have that same type of energy at every event!
- Swim practice has begun and the these Lions are out to make HISTORY!
- The half time performance by the Randle Marching Band provided a glimpse of what we can expect during contest season. The Royals looked spotless on their Halftime performance while the cheerleaders kept our fans engaged and energized.

NEW COMING WEEK IS AROUND THE CORNER
Dear Lions,
As you know, Newcoming is around the corner, and on behalf of our organization, we are asking for everyone to participate in the Beau and Sweetheart. This is an incredibly special event because this is our first senior class.
What is Beau and Sweetheart?
Beau and Sweetheart is usually a senior male (beau) and female (sweetheart) that is a dedicated member and an excellent example of class and character within your organization. This is the senior king and queen of your program.
Example:
- Mr. and Miss Band
- Mr. and Miss Choir
- Miss Volleyball
- Mr. And Miss Basketball
- Etc.
We will announce Beau and Sweetheart winners by September 12th
The Beau and Sweetheart winners will be presented their parents before the Newcoming Game at Traylor Stadium on September 14th. Students are expected to arrive at Traylor Stadium either 5:30 or 6:30. Due to the heat advisories, the game times have been pushed back and we will provide the exact time closer to the game.
COURSE LEVEL DROP INFO FROM OUR COUNSELING TEAM!
Hi Lions,
We hope you had a great start to the school year! As we enter the third week of school, we realize some Lions may need a level change in a course with a level down equivalent.
Please see below for LCISD guidelines regarding level changes.
Course Level Changes: To be considered for a level change from a PAP, AP, Dual Credit or OnRamps course, the student must have made a sincere effort to succeed by attending tutorials, completing his/her work, completed available reassessment, conferenced with his/her teacher, and recognized that Dual/AP courses have a 1.3 multiplier, PAP courses have a 1.2 multiplier, and academic courses have a 1.1 multiplier.
A parent conference with the teacher is recommended before a level change.
Course level changes will be considered at the end of the 3rd week (PR1), at the end of the 1st six weeks (SW1), and at the end of the 1st semester with a completed campus drop form. Level changes for semester-only courses will be considered at the end of the 3rd week (PR1 or PR4) and at the end of the 1st six weeks (SW1 or SW4).
If students need a level change they should request a level change form from their teacher. All level request are due to counselor's office by Friday, September 1st at 4:00 pm. Students can contact the counselors if they have questions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - STUDENT EXPECTATIONS (REPEAT)
Dear Randle Lions,
August 21, 2023 is second MONDAY of the year. Please take your time and read through this message. We have included important information that you and your student need to know. I understand this is a lot of information right now, but there are many changes for the upcoming school year.
We want to be very clear about our 2023/24 expectations so there is no confusion with you or your child. You will find important information regarding the CHANGES to the student code of conduct handbook. The changes to the student code of conduct were approved by the school board on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, and will strictly enforced beginning August 21, 2023.
Below is a summary of key changes, but it is highly recommended everyone carefully reads pages 156-172.
Let’s begin with E-Cigarettes/Vapes. Possession of ANY E-Cigarette (vape or device), regardless if it contains THC or not, is a MANDATORY ALC PLACEMENT. Do not bring these devices to campus. (Code DRP pg. 170).
Secondly, there are also changes in our expectation with telecommunication devices:
- "Students are allowed to bring their own telecommunication devices to school, ALL DEVICES must remain in student backpacks for the duration of the day. Students will be allowed to take out and use their devices at lunch only unless otherwise directed by administration. Teachers also have discretion to allow device use in class for instruction purposes only. Students must follow teacher and district rules in regards to using their device. Using a phone in school is a privilege that can be revoked at any time." (pg. 156)
- “Telecommunication devices that disrupt the education process, are used inappropriately or when not directed by a teacher or staff member, or used in violation of the Student Code of Conduct will be confiscated. School personnel will write an office referral and it will be turned into the principal’s office. If this is the students first offense, they will be allowed to retrieve their device at the end of the school day. If the student is leaving early, they must return at the end of the school day to retrieve their device, no exceptions will be made. Repeated offenses will require parent/guardian, and/or a third party that retains legal right of ownership to obtain a release of the electronic device for a monetary fee of $15.” (pg. 156)
Inappropriate use of Cell Phone Practice (pg.157):
- 1st Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated and returned at end of day.
- 2nd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, and parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee.
- 3rd Offense – Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is assigned ISS.
- 4th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is suspended.
- 5th Offense - Parent Contact, Phone confiscated, parent must retrieve phone with a $15 fee, and student is recommended to attend ALC.
- 6th Offense & Beyond – Recommend ALC Placement
Misuse Of Technology Resources and The Internet:
- The use of mobile phones or any device during tests is strictly prohibited. Any person with a phone/device out during a test will have their phone confiscated immediately for parent pickup and will receive a zero. The use of mobile phones or any device in restrooms and/or locker rooms is strictly prohibited. If an individual uses a phone to video individuals in a private setting (bathroom/locker room) or compromising situation, then it will be coded a "State Jail Felony" and is a mandatory DAEP placement.
- Any person using their phones in these areas will have their device confiscated immediately for parent pickup and will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct and will be reported to law enforcement in accordance with the Texas Penal Code.
Next, I would like to discuss safety transgressions. The following points are prohibited by students and will be strictly monitored and enforced.
Students shall not:
- Possess published or electronic material that is designed to promote or encourage illegal behavior or that could threaten school safety.
- Engage in verbal (oral or written) exchanges that threaten the safety of another student, a school employee, or school property.
- Make false accusations or perpetrate hoaxes regarding school safety.
- Engage in any conduct that school officials might reasonably believe will substantially disrupt the school program or incite violence.
- Throw objects that can cause bodily injury or property damage.
- Discharge a fire extinguisher or activating a fire alarm without valid cause.
- Be in a location, such as bus, gymnasium, teacher workroom, unassigned classroom, choir room, restroom, custodial closets, hallway, auditorium, athletics’ field/court, playground, locker room, band room, cafeteria, offices, etc. without approval.

The mandatory ONLINE Beginning of Year Forms went live on July 26th. Take 15 minutes this week while you still have a little time to breathe and get this done.
If you are new to this, more Instructions, important dates, and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking the link https://www.lcisd.org/students-parents/family-access/beginning-of-year-forms.
*This page also includes a link to reset your Family Access username/password if you have forgotten it over the summer! :)
Your student’s schedule will NOT be viewable online through the Family Access Center until all of your student's beginning-of-year forms are completed and AFTER the campus has released schedules.
Parents Standards of Conduct
Lamar CISD welcomes parents and guardians to be engaged and involved in student academics and activities. Mutually respectful behavior at school campuses and in interactions with campus staff is essential for fostering a positive and productive school environment. Establishing clear parent/guardian standards of conduct sets expectations and creates a respectful and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.
- Safety and Security: Parents/guardians must comply with safety and security protocols on campus, including sign-in procedures and visitor badges.
- Adherence to School Policies: Parents/guardians must familiarize themselves with school policies and follow them, including rules related to student drop-off and pick-up, dress code, and behavior expectations.
- Respectful Communication: Parents/guardians must communicate with school staff in a respectful and courteous manner. This includes using appropriate language, listening to staff members’ perspectives, and refraining from disrespectful or aggressive behavior.
- Appropriate Use of Technology: Parents/guardians are expected to use technology, such as email or messaging apps, responsibly when communicating with school staff.
- Appropriate Time and Place: Parents/guardians are expected to understand the appropriate times and locations for discussions with teachers or school staff. There may be designated parent-teacher conferences or specific office hours when staff can address concerns.
- Privacy and Confidentiality: Parents/guardians must respect the privacy and confidentiality of other students and families. Discussions about individual students must be conducted privately and not shared with others.
- Conflict Resolution: Parents/guardians are expected to engage in constructive conflict resolution if they have concerns or disagreements with school staff. This includes seeking appropriate channels for dispute resolution and avoiding confrontations on campus.
- Feedback and Suggestions: Parents/guardians should feel welcome to provide feedback and suggestions to the school administration but should do so in a constructive and respectful manner.
Prohibited Behaviors
In order to provide a peaceful and safe school environment, Lamar CISD prohibits the following behaviors by parents/guardians and visitors:
- Abusive, threatening, profane or harassing communication, either in person, by e-mail or text/voicemail/phone or other written or verbal communication
- Disruptive behavior that interferes or threatens to interfere with campus operations, including the effective operation of a classroom, an employee’s office or duty station, a campus lobby, or school grounds, including sporting events, parking lots and car-pickup
- Threatening to do bodily harm to a District employee, visitor, fellow parent/guardian or student
- Threatening to damage the property of a District employee, visitor, fellow parent/guardian or student
- Damaging or destruction of school property
Consequences
Depending upon the severity of the incident, parents/guardians or visitors may be removed from or otherwise banned from campus and participation in school-sponsored events under the criminal trespass laws.
In situations involving lesser infractions or where remediation is viable, a warning will be provided in writing prior to the filing of trespass and issuance of a formal ban. Should a parent/guardian or visitor fail to heed the direction issued in the warning, a ban or other restrictions designed to deter the conduct will follow.
No restriction, however, will prevent the parent/guardian from working collaboratively with the campus or district to meet the child’s educational needs, nor will a parent/guardian be excluded from a child’s IEP meeting.
Specific procedures for campus warning and ban decisions can be found in policy GKA (LEGAL) and GKA (LOCAL), as well as the Lamar CISD Student Handbook.
