Staff members at Governor Winslow School are so grateful for the gift of our students, and we work extremely hard on keeping them safe and happy in our learning environment. We regularly review behavior expectations, and recognize the many times our students exceed those expectations. Our positive reinforcement system is called Winslow's Spot. Staff members will help Winslow, our PeaceBuilder Bear, to spot kind behaviors. When a student is spotted going above and beyond to show kindness, staff members will reward them with a Spot Card. Classrooms will be collecting Spot Cards to build a sense of community, and when GWS earns 300 spots collectively, there will be a school-wide reward. As of today, our students have already earned 179 Spot Cards! We invite our families to support us by celebrating your children when they are caught being kind!

Picture make-up/retake day is scheduled for Thursday, October 19 for any student who was absent on Picture Day or who was not satisfied with his/her original photo. For all picture retakes please return the original portrait package.

GWS will continue to use the PickUp Patrol (PUP) App to help us better manage our dismissal process. PUP allows parents to electronically make daily dismissal changes from a computer or smart phone. Families that have not already registered will receive an email with login information.

Every three years our parent/guardian CORI forms need to be updated in order to volunteer at school events. This year marks the beginning of a three year term, so every parent/guardian that would like to volunteer needs to complete a new form this year.

Please click here for a typable form and submit by bringing it to the front office with your license. You do have the option to have the form notarized and sent in with a copy of your license if you cannot come to the school.

In this fun, interactive program, Comic Mime Robert Rivest will take us through a series of spooky yet silly Halloween stories. We will also learn how to do some mime tricks and treat our friends to funny mime illusions and hilarious Halloween characters. Come in costume, Robert will use his mastery of mime and movement to help us move and act like our costume characters.

This program is best for school aged children and their families!
