We cannot believe how quickly this has happened...it's already May! Students in grades 3-5 have started their state assessments. Kindergartners are getting ready to graduate. Fifth graders are thinking about Jr. High. Second graders are excited to move into the "big kids" hallway...all in the blink of an eye! It seems like each week we are talking about how amazing this year has been and how grateful we are for all of our families. Betty Kiefer is definitely the best place to be...thank you for being a part of our family!

Each year, 3rd-5th grade students participate in the Idaho Standard Achievement Tests (ISATs). Review the following tips to help your child do their best.

Thank you so much to our families for loving our BKE staff. We are so thankful for each and every one of our students. Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is so much fun, and we are grateful for all of the love! Our PTU has organized a special week for our teachers...THANK YOU!

We want to thank those of you who continue to follow our safety protocols to ensure staff and students are safe!

Some things to remember:

• Students cannot be dropped off before 8:45
• Students can be dropped off on both the North and South lanes
• Students will have designated pick up areas (K-2 North, 3-5 South)
• Bus lane is now along Nagel
• Please do not park in the SOUTH lane--use the parking lot

We appreciate your support!

Students are not allowed to carry medicine on them throughout the day at school. This includes cough drops, inhalers, pain relievers, etc. Please contact our front office if your student requires medication to be administered at school. Thank you!

In accordance with federal law, the District shall release information regarding the professional qualification and degrees of teachers and the qualifications of paraprofessionals to parents upon request, for any teacher or paraprofessional who is employed by a school receiving Title I funds, and who provides instruction to their child at the school (Lakeland School District 3272, Policy Manual, Personnel Records: 5500).

BKE’s philosophy, mission, vision and beliefs were aligned to address all elements of "thoroughness" including a safe learning environment, maintenance of classroom discipline, basic values, communication skills, basic curriculum, workforce skills, current technology, and responsible citizenship. These guiding principles were developed to ensure that students acquired the skills necessary to be responsible and productive citizens, effective communicators, creative problem solvers, and lifelong learners!

We are focused on ensuring students, parents, and staff are safe at BKE. We will continue practicing drills regularly, holding monthly safety meetings to maintain our safety protocols, and continue to seek input from stakeholders regarding best practices.
