Grade Level and Department News
Pre-K:
- This week, we have been talking about Dr. Seuss and reading a lot of his books. We also did activities that went along with the books.
- Next week, we will be talking about Farm Animals.
- Parent Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, March 10th, 3:00-6:30, and also Friday, March 11th, 8:30-11:30. Please sign up for a time. This is required of all Preschool parents.
- Make sure your child has extra masks in their bookbags and check the bookbags daily.
- Read to your child daily. Have a great weekend!
Kindergarten:
- Kindergarten families, Please continue to help your child study sight words and read with them nightly.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 @ 4-7pm and Friday, March 11, 2022 @ 8-12am.
First Grade:
- If you have not already scheduled a conference with your childβs teacher, please do so as soon as possible. There was a schedule sheet sent home last week.
- Please make sure your child has a water bottle with them each day.
- Make sure someone listens to your child read each night and signs the reading log.
Second Grade:
- There is still time to schedule a conference with your childβs teacher. Please make sure you send in the sign-up sheet as soon as possible. Parent conferences will be next Thursday, March 10 from 4-7 pm and Friday, March 11 from 8 am-12 pm.
- Continue to read AR books and complete the reading log. Students should also continue to work on sight words and learn basic math facts to 20.
- Make sure students are bringing an extra mask and water bottle to school each day.
Resource:
- 1st and 2nd grade students who were able to check out library books this week, make sure you are enjoying reading your books. Make sure you know what day you go to the library and be ready to bring them back to library class next week to swap them for a new one! If you have any WPS library books, even from last year, you can still turn them back in. Thanks so much *Mrs. Edwards
