Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Happy August! I hope you are enjoying a relaxing and healthy summer. Our family is currently relishing our time in Maine, grateful for the cooler weather and calmness of the lake and woods.
This is the first of a few Back to School newsletters. Please note that future emails will include more details about Opening Day and COVID safety protocols.
Important calendar update: The first day for ALL PK4 students is Thursday, September 1 without any staggered start dates like previously communicated. This is a DCPS-wide start date for all schools.
Check out the Ready for PK Toolkit!
The Ross PTA is also sending out summer news.

I am pleased to announce that our Ops team is now fully staffed with the addition of Ms. Brown, our new custodian and Ms. Segovia, our new Manager of School Logistics/MSL. The building is shiny and clean and ready for your children! Ms. Segovia attended Ross for PK in Ms. Lee's class. She is a DCPS graduate and current DCPS parent of three children. If you have not yet been in touch with Ms. Segovia, please note that she will be an important point of contact for you going forward regarding all operations in the school such as enrollment, KidsRideFree, school meals, community events, attendance monitoring, etc.
Her email is graciela.segovia@k12.dc.gov
Our annual "Sneak a Peek" event is Friday, August 26 at 2:30pm. You will meet your child's teacher, check out their classroom, and enjoy a popsicle on the playground with other families and PTA leaders.
First Day of School for K-5 Students is Monday, August 29.

I look forward to seeing your children back on campus in August! Please reach out if you have any questions or needs.
