Dear Parents / Carers,
I love this time of year when the school is full of singing voices as I walk down the corridor. Rehearsals are in full swing in KS1 and EYFS and are sounding great!
We had a fabulous day on Wednesday in non-uniform as children donated chocolate in readiness for the Christmas event after school next Friday. This was followed by the school discos that were very well attended. DJ Priory was again the star of the evening so our thanks go to him and to the Friends of Kirk Fenton for organising.
Well done to our Young Voices choir who performed for the village at last night's Jolly Holly toy Collection in awful weather conditions. They did incredibly well to sing in the wind and rain outside school.
Next week we have the first of our Nativity plays as Reception perform theirs on Monday. KS2 will also have music performances to showcase their instruments. We will end the week with our whole school trip to the Pantomime (oh yes we will!) and the Christmas Fair after school on Friday.
Have a lovely weekend,
Karen Williams

Message from Head Pupils
This week, chosen children from KS2 participated in a tag rugby tournament at Knottingley Rugby Club. Although we didn't win, all the children who went had a brilliant time. We had a Christmas disco on Wednesday night and there was lots of excitement and noise, with people shouting along to their favourite songs and generally having a wonderful time. Everyone is looking forward to the KS1 nativity and KS2 music performance, which both will be available to watch as of next week. Have a good weekend!
Head pupil awards go to Lucy and Martha

It was fantastic to have the schools disco’s this week. Everyone looked amazing, and like they were having a great time. Our ears have just about recovered from the singing (screaming) in the hall! A HUGE thank you to all the staff who joined in the discos, and a particular shout out to DJ Priory who yet again kept the kids dancing and having fun all the time – and even donned a Santa outfit! AND we raised a fantastic £566!
Next up, is the Christmas Celebration next Friday. Another call for bakers if anyone can help with baking for the event please let us know!
The event will start straight after school in the hall, and will have all the favourites: a fantastic raffle, chocolate tombola, guessing games, lucky dip and snowball bowling as well as a book sale, Christmas tattoos and carols from the school choir. And to help you get into the festive spirit, we have mulled wine and hot chocolate this year alongside a bar and hot dogs!
