Year 10 - Visit from Senior Constable Clapham
On Tuesday morning, Year 10 welcomed Senior Constable Clapham from the Camden Local Area Command to talk about partying safely. During his talk, Snr. Constable Clapham spoke about the dangers of drug and alcohol use for young people including health issues that may arise as well as possible legal ramifications for illegal activities.
Officer Clapham also addressed staying safe when attending parties. Students were given tips around avoiding drink driving and drink spiking whilst attending party style events. Officer Clapham also gave advice on what to do in a situation where a friend or peer has been heavily affected by either drugs or alcohol.
The messages given by Senior Constable Clapham were well received by students who now have the knowledge and confidence to celebrate appropriately.
Year 10 Food Technology students - "Food Equity".
Mrs. Brown's 10.1 and 10.2 Food Technology students are studying the topic "Food Equity". Over the last six weeks they have been growing seedlings and experiencing the challenges of crop farming in a variety of climatic conditions and the effect on seed germination.
Students have realised how difficult it has been for people to grow crops with limited water, resources and variety of seed types. The seeds were harvested from the foods they used whilst cooking with various types of foods in practical lessons in class.
