Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Operating Theatre Live
Year 10 students from across the Brooke Weston Trust took part in Operating Theatre Live this week.
Medical Careers
Students learned about medical professions and experienced first hand how to dissect real anatomical specimens.
Commando Joe's
Romano from Commando Joe's visited school this week and will be working with students after the March break.

Students:
- Mrs Brown has nominated Year 12 students Stefania and Iulia for excellent progress with writing language essays in English Language and Literature.
- Miss Grieves has nominated Year 7 students Ella, Dylan and Ana for outstanding Maths homework.
- Mr Gourlay has nominated Year 11 student Alex for fantastic progression in Computer Science due to his persistence and hard work in his self-study time.
- Miss Fenner has nominated the following students, Year 9 students Jude and Ashley for excellent effort and attitude this term in English. Year 11 students Luca, Caitlin, Lloyd, Millie and Kieran for their effort and progress in their English Literature mocks and finally thank you to all Literacy Leaders for their support with whole school literacy this week.
- Miss McGrath has nominated Year 7 students Sol and Dylan for fantastic answers and involvement in the Science lessons this week and Year 10 pupils Lewis, Halle, Anjali and Debony for brilliant results and progress in their recent Science assessment.
- Mr Cox has nominated the Year 10 students who took part in Operating Theatre Live this week, and also the Year 9 students who attended the Big Bang, they were all great ambassadors for the school.
- Miss Connellan has nominated Year 10 student Indira for fantastic work in English.
- Mrs Ferns has nominated Year 11 students Musa and Baixu for mentoring Year 8 Maths students. Also nominated are the Year 11 Maths students who took part in the Maths topic day with PetXi, excellent effort from all.
- Mrs Morgan has nominated Year 11 food and cookery on a good practical lesson and Year 11 students Andrea and Abbie for great work in Art.

Year 12 - Mufti Day
Year 12 students held a mufti day today with students from Brooke Weston Academy to raise much needed funds for Corby Nightlight project.
Believe Big 2019 - STEM
Year 9 students this week presented their ideas to a judging panel for this years Believe Big competition.
Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Whole school attendance this week is 94.29%, significantly lower than our target, we need to see improvements in the new term.
Best Tutor Group
Best tutor group is 7C0 with 99.2%, well done to Mr Chilver and your students.
House Winner
House winners are S House with 94.9%, well done to Stephenson and Swirles.

- School closes today for the two week break, we will reopen on Monday 18th March 2019.
- Reports have been given to all students, please ensure you return the reply slip by Friday 22nd March 2019.
