Creston Intermediate and Middle School Family Newsletter
April 24, 2020
Students, Parents, and Caregivers,
I hope this message finds your family safe and healthy during this unprecedented time we are navigating. I want to express my sincere gratitude to YOU for helping to make Learn at Home successful for our students and staff! We sincerely appreciate each family's efforts in getting your student online - our fabulous teachers are really enjoying reconnecting with our students!
Shared within this week's newsletter is information related to Course Descriptions for our students going into grades 6, 7, and 8. I ask that you review the information carefully to familiarize yourself with the course offerings for each grade level. Stay tuned for information to be shared early next week when you can attend Q&A opportunities with various Creston teachers to learn more about the elective courses your students can select from. During the week of May 4th, students will receive information from their grade-level counselors related to completing online scheduling forms. Any questions regarding this process can be directed to your child's grade-level counselor.
We are very excited to recognize our Creston Students of the Week - each teacher can nominate one student they wish to recognize for going above and beyond or showing awesome improvement with their Learn at Home activities. Check out the list and video below - I will be reaching out to our grade level winners soon!

Indianapolis Colts - The House of Blue
This time of year, Blue (the Colts mascot) is typically traveling Indiana performing school shows. Although our current circumstances do not allow him to do so, the Mascot Program has remained committed to bringing fun and educational messages to all students through these uncertain times.
Which is why Blue and his family have started a new YouTube series, The House of Blue. Each episode features various segments. Some examples:
· Did you Know – A teaching moment of the show
· Kids’ Table – Featuring Blue’s children
· Cooking with Carol – a cooking show with me
· Mascot Minute – featuring one of Blue’s mascot friends
We hope this can be an additional resource for you and your students as they transition to digital learning. Below you can find a links to each of the episodes and the episode playlist on YouTube, where you can check back for new episodes!
