Welcome to our new Rachel Carson students and families! All current parents and guardians of CPMS students are automatically members of the PTC.

Our events, programs, school support, and enthusiasm make up this vibrant volunteer community and are indeed, POWERED BY YOU.

1. There is a need for Committee members start to put together an End of Semester Celebration on February 3rd. Help make memories for our Cedar Park students by planning a fun event, goodies, etc. Email volunteers@cedarparkptc.org to get more information.

2. Mark your calendars for the next PTC Meeting dates: January 18th at 6:30pm via Zoom, February 15th at 6:30pm (Hybrid or Zoom - TBD), March 15th at 6:30pm, March 15th at 6:30pm.

It is that time of year to reflect on the things we are thankful for. Therefore, the PTC would like to extend yet another big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the 5K fundraiser this year, including our wonderful sponsors! Wonder who those wonderful sponsors are? Check out our PTC homepage!

If you have been holding off getting yourself set up in the district’s volunteer system, it is time to get connected!

Need to get set up at Cedar Park after your student has moved out of elementary school? Email update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us to add your profile to Cedar Park Middle School. Rachel Carson parents - make sure to get connected to both RC and Cedar Park!

There is an urgent need to get some volunteers together to help plan a fun-filled, end of semester celebration for the students! It will be on February 3rd, during the school day. Students will rotate through, by grade level, to enjoy the fun. Past activities have included DJs, caricature artists, temporary tattoos, photo booths, snacks, etc. Please contact volunteers@cedarparkptc.org to get connected and learn more.

The PTC is looking for two more Cedar Park parents to partner with RC’s parent volunteers to shower our hard-working, wonderful teachers and staff with appreciation with goodies all year round. There are even things you can do to help outside of school hours! Email our volunteer coordinator, Holli, to get more information and be looking for some Sign-Up Genius links coming up soon for our annual cookie exchange!

Can’t draw a stick figure? Don’t know Picasso from Dali? No worries! Prepared lesson plans and activities are available - we just need parents to volunteer to come teach lessons and guide a project based on the selected artist’s style. We are looking for 8-12 volunteers.

Great news! The October Book Fair was a success! In addition to lots of students getting books in their hands, Cedar Park’s sales of $4908.19 resulted in the school getting $1,000 in Scholastic Dollars and $727.05 in cash for the library! This was our best book fair to date! Pretty awesome!

• NO SCHOOL on Monday & Tuesday of next week - as well as the rest of the week. The 22nd will be a professional development day for teachers and the 23rd will be a non-school day for all BSD staff.
• There IS SCHOOL on Monday, November 29th, which is also a change from the original school district calendar.
• Band Concert - December 9th
  
• End of Semester Party - February 3rd - Volunteers needed right away to help make this a fun-filled milestone in the school year!
  
• First School Play of the Year - James and the Giant Peach on February 4th and 5th.
  

At the Timeberwolves Night event we were able to fill several committee leads. Thanks to those of you who signed up on the clipboard!

We have two some additional vacancies available:

• PTC Vice President: Participate in PTC board meetings and support the events and fundraisers of the PTC.
• PACK store: Work with school admins to purchase and organize this positive behavior incentive program
• 8th Grade Send-Off Coordinator: Help organize the 8th grade send-off in June!
  
• Student Store: Manage the supplies at the student store & help train volunteers
