Dear GLOBE parents/guardians,
Georgia law, as amended by the A+ Education Reform Act of 2000, requires that all students in grades 3–8 take the Georgia Milestones: End of Grade (EOG) in the content areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. In addition, students in grade 5 will take Science, and students in grade 8 will take Science and Social Studies.
Georgia Milestones is designed to provide information about how well students are mastering the state adopted content standards. Importantly, Georgia Milestones is designed to provide students with critical information about their own achievement and their readiness for their next level of learning—be it the next grade, the next course, or the next endeavor (college or career).
Georgia Milestones has transitioned to 100% of our students testing online. Online is considered the primary mode of testing, with paper-and-pencil available if the student has a disability identified in the student’s IEP, 504, or TPC plan that requires the need for this type of administration.
Below is the schedule for the administration of the EOG in the DeKalb County School District. It is imperative that students attend school each day and arrive on time so they will not miss any sections of this important assessment.
