Hello Lakeside Parents and Guardians,
We were excited to see our children return to school this week! We’ve had a great start to the final quarter of the school year and look forward to some hard work and fun activities ahead.
We have several very important upcoming dates:
Monday, April 8th is Kindergarten Roundup. Kindergarten Roundup will take place at each elementary on April 8th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. All parents who are interested should plan to attend. The Early Childhood Center will also host Preschool round-up that evening during the same hours of 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 9th is our township-wide STEAM Night. Warren Township presents STEAM Night on Tuesday, April 9th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and will be located at Warren Central High School and the Walker Career Center.
Wednesday, April 10th is a Late Start for all Warren Township Schools. Students will arrive 1 hour later than their normal start time. All buses will run 1 hour later than normal in the morning. This does not impact dismissal time.

MSD WARREN TOWNSHIP EXCEL PROGRAM FOR 2019-2020
Mission Statement: The EXCEL Program is designed to meet the unique academic and affective needs of highly talented students through a cooperative, enriched, and accelerated academic program where each person feels significant and appreciated.
The curriculum in the EXCEL program is differentiated and faster paced. Students will work above grade level.

New Warren Website and App!
Warren Township School District has a new app and website! The purpose of the app and website is to provide regular updates through the live feed, district news, and district events sections as well as other important district information. The app includes easy access to the weekly breakfast and lunch menu, staff contacts, district documents, bullying, and safety reporting form, and much much more. The Warren app can be downloaded at the Apple and Android App Store. Stay informed and download the app today. The district website is www.warren.k12.in.us.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - MONDAY, JUNE 3RD (TENTATIVE)
Grades K-4 will be dismissed at 2:30 pm
Grades 5 - 12 will be dismissed at 1:30 pm
Lost and Found
We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school clinic. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, books, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins. Any item not claimed by the end of the year will be donated to a worthy charity.
Outside Recess
It’s that time of year when we need to remind student to make sure they have appropriate clothing for recess. The district policy states students will be going outside for recess if the temperature and the wind chill are above 20 degrees. We have extra coats, hats, and gloves for students in need. Please contact the front office if you need assistance.
Students must go outside unless we have a doctor statement.
HEALTHY CELEBRATIONS
While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a “no birthday treats “ guideline. Also, note that no birthday invitations are allowed to be distributed at school. It is school policy.

Wellness Policy
In compliance with the district's wellness policy, please DO NOT send in a food item for your child's birthday. We encourage you to donate your child's favorite book to their classroom, arrange a time for a game or craft in the classroom, send in party hats for your students class or send in stickers or cards.
School Visits
Lunch Policy
If a student has a balance of $25.00 or higher, the student will be provided a choice of two alternate meals at a reduced rate of $0.50. Parents may check student account balances by using the link provided to the Lunch Parent Portal. Chartwell would like to remind all parents that breakfast is available to all students for free in the classroom in the morning.
