Another great week we had at school as everyone settles in to the new routines. Now that Kindergarten has officially joined us, we feel complete!

Over the next few weeks, in addition to teaching students the expectations and routines and building relationships, we will be working with your children to get a baseline of their skills. What does this look like? There are a variety of assessments that will be given to each student to see where they are in the areas of reading, writing, and math. This data will be used to identify students who are on track for meeting grade level expectations and those who require additional support to get there. As a team, we will be meeting to develop learning plans that will include interventions and other learning opportunities. This process, which we follow three times a year (beginning, middle, and end) allows us to monitor student progress and adjust our instruction as needed. Stay tuned for more information.

We are excited for our first spirit week this Friday! As always, participation is encouraged but not mandatory. You can have as much fun with it as you want! This one is a favorite of mine, because it symbolizes all of our uniqueness and ability to express our creativity! It is always a fun way to kick off the year.

On September 15th - we will celebrate INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY by wearing our polka dots! Let's have some fun for our first spirit day!

As a reminder, breakfast is served each morning 8:30AM-8:45AM. Students who do not eat at home, have the ability to eat at school before the school day starts. If your child chooses to eat breakfast, please arrive to school as close to 8:30AM as possible. We try to get the students back in class to start the day with the rest of their classmates. Also, it would be helpful if you could remind them each morning if they need breakfast. They can go right to the cafeteria instead of reporting to their class. This is NOT true for kindergarten. They report to their teacher first and follow a more structured process.

Please note that even though meals will be free for all students this school year, it remains essential for families who believe they qualify to complete the household Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2023- 2024 school year. It was another successful week at the loop. We appreciate your patience and cooperation of our safety protocols.

Please review the reminders below. Remember, safety for all is our number one priority:

• Stay in your vehicle.
• Pay attention to the staff giving directions.
• Please do not use your cellphone while entering the loop.
• Once you enter the loop, drive all the way up so we can load as many students at once. This means you may drive by your child. They will come to you.
• Place the provided colored name tag in the front passenger side, so we can easily identify your child.

If your child needs additional time to buckle before leaving, kindly move up to the front spot in the loop. If you are comfortable, you can even pull out to Rathbun Willard Dr. to buckle. We want to make sure you feel your child is safe and ready to go while still keeping the loop moving efficiently.

Please join us for our FIRST PTO Meeting of the school year. The meetings are not long and gives you an opportunity to hear what is happening in our school as well as ways you can get involved. We are always looking for new ideas and ways to make our meetings more meaningful to the Studley community. We hope to see you Wednesday night at 6:00PM in the Studley library.

Please log into ASPEN and sign off on the student handbook for your child. Please review the directions below if you need support with the ASPEN task. Once completed, our office staff will complete the process.

If you have extra LEGOs around - please consider donating them to our Makerspace! Fill a quart sized bag and label it with your child's name. Each bag will enter you to win!

As we start a new year, it is critical to get into a strong routine with attendance. This includes arriving to school on time. Any student arriving at 8:45 or later will be marked tardy. Students will need to be buzzed in by the front office and walked in by an adult. We appreciate your cooperation with this!
