Next Thursday, March 28th at 1:30, my dissertation committee chair, Associate Dean of the Irvin School of Education at Hardin-Simmons, and my professor will Skype in to our classroom to see a Social Studies lesson in action.

She teaches in the teacher preparation program and currently has a class studying the Texas Social Studies TEKS and curriculum.

Last time I was in Abilene we talked about this class and I offered to model a lesson with my AMAZING class.

Please let me know if you have any objections to you child participating in this activity. If I do not hear from you I will assume you are fine with participation.

GCISD is hoping students, staff, parents and community members join us at the renovated Mustang Panther Stadium. You are invited to the ribbon cutting and grand opening on a night when our soccer teams take part in the Battle of the Red Rail.

We invite our community to attend the official opening of Mustang Panther Stadium on Friday, March 22. We will host a brief ceremony outside of the stadium at 5:30 p.m. followed by tours of the newly renovated facility. There will also be a commemorative shirt available after the ribbon cutting for the first 500 guests. We encourage everyone to stay to watch the Red Rail soccer games free of admission as our boys and girls soccer teams play at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively.
