Message from East Hill Principal
Dear East Hill Elementary School Families,
Another great week at East Hill! Our grade 4 students had an opportunity to work with the REV Theatre Company on Tuesday. After their workshops they participated in an engaging interactive performance of A Journey to the Center of the Earth with the actors. We have included some pictures below.
We are looking forward to celebrating the season with our Halloween parade on Tuesday, October 31st at 1:30 in the bus loop. It is our hope (weather permitting) you will be able to join us by lining the bus loop parade route in front of the school. Please read additional information regarding Halloween below.
Enjoy the weekend!
~Susan
Congratulations to this week's Wildcat WOW prize winners!
REV Theatre Visits Grade 4
Halloween Festivities for October 31
On Halloween Day, we will run our normal, daily school schedule until 1:20. Our parade will begin at 1:30! You are welcome to come watch our parade by standing around the bus loop. Please arrive between 1:20-1:30. If there is inclement weather, the students will parade indoors through the hallways and around the perimeter of the gym so they can see one another in their costumes! If the weather does not cooperate, a decision will be made that morning to have an indoor parade in which spectators would not be permitted. In the event of a change, a communication will be sent to families. Please read additional information regarding Halloween below.
Please follow these important guidelines to make the day a safe and happy one for everyone.
If your child opts to bring a Halloween costume for the day, send the costume to school in a bag and label all parts with their name. Do not send your child to school in costume or wearing make-up. All scary, violent, bloody masks, weapons, spears or other dangerous accessories are not permitted at school and must remain at home. We want everyone to have a positive experience.
Spectators for the outdoor parade will stand around the bus loop. We will block that area from traffic. The bus loop will be closed to all traffic at 1:15, parking at the ski hill is reserved for volunteers that will be bringing supplies for the classroom parties. Please park in the neighborhood but only on one side of the street and be respectful of our EH neighbors and do not block driveways or mailboxes and walk only on roads and sidewalks.
Halloween parties will be held in classrooms after the parade. All parents who were interested in helping at the party were asked to sign up in advance. For obvious safety reasons, only those who are already designated as helpers/volunteers will be permitted into the building and classrooms during the parties, and you must sign in at the main office. Volunteers are asked to not bring younger children. Any treats you bring should have a label of ingredients, as we have many students with allergies.
If you are a volunteer, please avoid wearing a costume mask or face covering. We must be able to easily identify and recognize everyone who is permitted into the building and interacting with our children.
Children will not wear their costumes on the buses but will have time and assistance to remove their costumes before dismissal. (Again, be sure every piece is labeled!)
We will follow normal dismissal procedures beginning at 3:10.
We look forward to a fun-filled day with the children! Thank you for your cooperation!
As you may be aware you can submit daily absences in ParentVUE. It is important to submit these absences by 9:30 am each day. If you are submitting after 9:30 am for the current day please call or email ...(put your information that matches your school). Below you will find some important instructions for how to use the "Report Absence" function within ParentVUE.
Submission Instructions:
1. Click "Report Absence"
2. Enter the date that the student is or will be absent. If they will only be absent one day the end date should match the start date. If the student will be out multiple days the end date should be the last date they will be absent before returning back to school.
3. Select a reason.
4. Enter the reason in the "Note" box. This is important and is required to verify the reason for absence.

Our next meeting is on 11/15 at 6 pm in the East Hill library. We’d love to see you!
