Report cards went home today. We are having some trouble with them, however, we wanted to get what we could out. If you notice a mistake on your child’s report card please don’t panic as we are fixing them. A new report card will be sent once it is corrected.

High school students we are working on getting your transcripts updated so that they have your previous courses with credit as well as the new courses for credit.

Now that we are back from winter break, we are entering into a time of test prep for our STAAR and second language learners. I am attaching a letter from our Director of Special Populations concerning TELPAS testing. As always if you have any questions, please reach out to us.

ESL Channel

For our next family fun night, we will be hosting a mini volleyball tournament for parents, students, staff, and the board. The tournament will function as follows: Parents and students will play a match from 6:00 pm to 6:20 pm. The first team to 21 points (or whomever is leading at 6:20) will be declared the winner. The staff will play the board from 6:20 to 6:40. The first team to 21 points (or whomever is leading at 6:40) will be declared the winner. The two winners will then play each other for the championship. We look forward to a night of friendly competition and fun, and hope to see you there!

Autism Awareness month is coming up in April. Manara Academy will be putting on an event but wanted to give families a chance to order shirts to support Autism Awareness. If you would like to order a shirt click here to go to the page. All families will be paying their own order however the shirts will ship to the district and we will get them to you once they get in. The orders close on March 10th to get the shirts here in time.

We will be having our first Friday night Lights this spring. Notices were sent home with report cards to students that are required to attend.

Reminder that Friday night lights is afterschool detention for students who have earned it. It will take place next week January 20th from 1:30 to 3:30. If your child has earned a seat in Friday Night Lights and fails to stay for it they will earn another detention as well as a parent conference.

This is a reminder that cell phones and ear buds are nOt to be used at school during school hours. If they are out they will be taken. Reminder that all students are to be in school uniform at all times unless it is a dress down day or a campus approved alt dress day. High school students have assigned seats for lunch. Please remind your student to stay in their ssinged seat. Are next Friday night lights will be on Janaury 20th for any student that has earned afterschool detention.
