Welcome Back!
Class Placement (How to look up your child's teacher on the Parent Portal)
Welcome back, roadrunner families! We are so excited about the year ahead and can't wait to see you all on Thursday, August 24th!
Our staff and PTA have been busy this summer planning what we know will be a fantastic year ahead for our roadrunners. I have included some quick links above so that you can access some key materials that will ensure a smooth start of the school year. Please pay extra attention to the "Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures" so we are able to achieve a safe arrival and dismissal for students on the first day of school.
Pre-K and Kindergarten parents will be receiving emails on Friday, August 18th with details on their morning (AM) or afternoon (PM) placement. Parents of students in grades 1-6 will be able to view their child's teacher name via the parent portal on Wednesday, August 23rd. IUSD will release access to that information around noon.
As you scroll down, you'll find more information on some changes and reminders, Back to School Night, construction progress, data confirmation, and more. Please make sure you read through this content and access the quick links as you prepare for the new school year. We look forward to welcoming our returning and new roadrunners in a week! Have a wonderful remainder of your summer break!
Important Changes and Reminders to Note
Our Loma Ridge staff makes a concerted effort to establish a learning environment that is conducive to the development of good study habits and uninterrupted academic learning time. We seek your cooperation and assistance in this effort. You can help us by:
Sending the teacher a note or email should you need to pick up your child early. This will allow the teacher time to have your child prepared for pick up.
Avoiding calling school and leaving messages for your child, unless it is an emergency. The telephone is made available to students only for emergencies.
Establishing a system that helps eliminate forgotten lunches, homework, money, musical instruments, etc.
In the case that items are forgotten, please adhere to the following guidelines. The office staff will not disrupt instruction to alert your child that their item has been delivered nor will office staff deliver items to the classroom. Parents bringing forgotten items to school should deliver them to the table outside the office doors. Students are encouraged to check the table for forgotten items throughout the day. Forgotten lunches should be placed in the bins in the covered area outside of the double doors to the front office prior to the student's lunch period.
Lunch- Play First, Eat Last
In an effort to ensure that our students take the time to eat a healthy lunch, we are implementing a new lunch schedule so students are able to play first and then eat prior to going back to the classroom. We're excited to see this make a positive impact on student wellness. Please be sure to check the bell schedule for your child's lunch period and know that the second half of that time frame will be when students eat lunch.
Tardies & Absences
Please report your child's absence by calling our absence line at (949) 404-1401. Students arriving to school late should report to the front office to sign in and receive a pass to class.
