Everyone knows the “When You Wish Upon a Star” song which highlights nearly every Disney animated movie. While, I agree that making wishes is often fun, I prefer for our students to make plans outlined with goals and powered by hard work. As our students continue to grow and develop, they need a solid foundation of how to get the things they need and want. In a wish, there is a large measure of luck or magic; in a plan there is direct action and impact from the planner. Students need to realize that the things they want in life will only come from setting goals, planning, and working hard to reach those goals. One writer said, “The backbone of success is hard work, determination, good planning, and perseverance”. There are no limits to what our students can achieve if we give them the right tools! #HAWKPRIDE

PTA will be hosting our 2nd annual Sweetheart Valentine's Dance Friday, February 7th, from 6-8 pm. This dance will be ONLY for Hawthorne K-4 students and their loving parent or guardian. Featuring DJ B-Smooth, there will be dancing, pizza and dessert included in the price of admission. Additional snacks will be available for purchase. Photos will be available for purchase ($5 including frame). The cost will be $10 per student and caregiver in advance. $15 at the door. (ALL HAWTHORNE STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AND SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT. YOU MUST BE A HAWTHORNE STUDENT AND PARENT/GUARDIAN TO ATTEND).

The NCAA provided books to all 3rd grade students in Warren Township. Each 3rd grader was able to select 2 books!
