Liberty High School 5A State Champions
Bella Voce Choir participated in the Region 24 UIL Concert & Sight Reading Evaluation on March 2nd receiving ratings of ¨Excellent¨ in both areas.
Orchestra Awarded Sweepstakes
"In addition to the Symphonic Orchestra (Non-Varsity), our Advanced Symphonic Orchestra (Varsity) was also awarded a "Sweepstakes" at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation yesterday.
This is the equivalent of a music state assessment like the STAAR test. Six judges give constructive feedback and ratings to each group in the area of Concert (stage performance on prepared music) and Sight-Reading (new music learned in eight minutes). The Advanced Symphonic Orchestra was given a "Sweepstakes" which is the highest award given where all six judges give the rating of a “Superior”, or 1 Rating.
Thank you to the many teachers, administrators, and colleagues that work behind the scenes to make these accomplishments possible. There are many moving parts to achieving this level of success and I thank everyone at Vandeventer that strives daily to encourage excellence from the student body." Chase Fickling
Redhawk Orchestra Retreat
On Thursday, Liberty High School hosted their first “Redhawk Retreat” for the incoming orchestra freshmen. Games were played, a photo scavenger hunt was completed, a fun 25-minute rehearsal and “performance” of Encanto was done, and pizza was consumed. Here is a video of how Liberty High School greeted the 8th graders when they arrived!

Pre-Registration for New Students Begins 2023-24
Frisco ISD invites families with students who will be new for the 2023-24 school year to pre-register online starting Tuesday, February 14th. This includes families moving to Frisco ISD, registering incoming kindergartners or re-enrolling former students. Once parents have completed the online registration form and uploaded the required documents, they will receive a confirmation email. Enrollment isn’t complete until the documentation is reviewed and processed by FISD staff which will start in the spring and continue throughout the summer. Start the process here.
Emergency Alerts
Frisco ISD utilizes the School Messenger text messaging service on a limited basis to communicate timely information such as school closures/delays or campus emergencies. Parents, not sure if you are signed up? Opt-in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587. This system is maintained separately from Remind, which some teachers and coaches use to text message students and parents.
We're Here for Your Family
An additional resource is available to assist Frisco ISD students and families in need. School support specialists provide personalized, hands-on support in securing assistance from community organizations or government agencies. The specialists help ensure students’ basic needs are met, allowing them to focus on learning in the classroom. Contact your campus counselor to initiate the process if you’d like help addressing needs related to mental health, food insecurity, medical and legal services and much more.
