Principal's Message
Our TEAM Sierra Membership drive was a huge success thanks to all of our generous families that donated, raising over $5,000 for our school and students. The top class was Mrs. Popejoy & Mrs. Rhoads, raising $631. 1st place for participation went to Mrs. Rickey's class, followed by Mrs. Moore's class. Thank you again to everyone who donated!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Reagan Phillips

Library News
Hello Dragons
It sure has been crazy weather lately. With the heatwave last week we had a few mishaps with melted crayons on books not kept in their books bags. Please remind your kiddo to keep their library books in their plastic library book bag to protect it from open water bottles, food, and the dreaded melted crayons. Please make sure to also remind students to return their books each week on their scheduled library day. If books have been out for 2 weeks or more, email and phone call reminders will go out. We have many kiddos waiting patiently for books to come back so they can check them out. Thank you for your help with this. The last day for AR quizzes is September 30th. Our first set of prizes will go out in the beginning of October. Remember good things happen when you read!!

Can you guess what children secretly want from their parents?
HINT: It’s FUN and FREE!
You guessed it, kids want 1:1 attention/time with parents/caregivers!
Research shows children who spend quality time with their families develop secure attachments/trust/greater emotional bonding, have fewer adolescent behavioral problems, are more successful academically, report being more happy, have a reduced chance of teen pregnancy and substance abuse. So many great reasons to create space for family time!
Here are some ideas to build positive connections with your child(ren)/family:
Bedtime Stories
Doing chores Together
Cooking Dinner Together
Movie Night!
Outside Scavenger Hunt
Park Day!
Picnic Dinner
Backyard Sleep Out!
Game Night!
Nature Walk/Walk the Dog
Let’s make it a great week everyone! Love, Miss Alissa.
