Nala the Hero Husky

Our own Morgan Hritz has authored and published a children's book entitled Nala, the Hero Husky. You can purchase this book on Amazon. Her story is about anxiety and coping with anxiety. I bet you could even get the author to sign it! ;)

Court with "Judge Butler"!

These students are in court with "Judge Butler" (aka. Tammy Butler)! Plaintiffs and defendants discussed and defended the theme, characters conflict, and key events with evidence and reasoning.

Minecraft Rube Goldberg Preseason Challenge

The purpose of this STEAM challenge was to get students to think about the engineering process before they begin creating their machines. Two Hellstern teams entered the challenge and each group won $175 in Amazon gift cards to split between group members. The students are Brant King, Beck Thorne, David Kilpatrick, Brayden Rierson, Joseph Combs, and Adyn Cox. The contest was sponsored by the North America Scholastic eSports Federation (NASEF).

Here was the prompt for the challenge:

Ask and Imagine are two very important steps of the Engineering Design Process. Your task is to share with us how you engaged in these two steps with your team. What questions did you ask? What strategies did you use to brainstorm as a group? How did you ensure that every voice on your team was heard and respected? Record and share in your Minecraft world!
