It is December! With that comes our new Character Strong character trait of the month…Empathy. Please take a moment to read this one page Family Newsletter outlining this character trait. Connecting what we are focusing on here at Santa Rita with the things you are doing at home are very impactful for our students. I thank you in advance for taking the time.
family school wide letter on Empathy
Thank you to all the families and students who have taken our Serve-a-thon on with full steam! It puts a big smile on my face to see how happy students are when they are helping others and our school. Keep up the good work and don't let the thought of serving others end when our Serve-a-thon end this week!
See below for more details on our Campus Clean up this Saturday.
Have a wonderful week!
Be Kind, Be Strong, Be Well and Stay Bobcat Strong!

Reminder of District and School Rules: CAMPUS CLOSED UNTIL 3:30
All LASD campuses, including Santa Rita are closed until 3:30 for the safety of our children. Please be sure to stay in the front of the school until then or check in with the office if you will be in a classroom
.
At Santa Rita, we have opened up the Kindergarten playground at 2:30 for those families that need to wait for older children. Please be sure you are keeping an eye on your students and that they are playing kindly with others and staying within the Kinder playground area only.
Thank you.
BOBCAT STRONG NEWS
Santa Rita Serve-A-Thon!
To kick off the giving season we are asking our Bobcat Students to pledge their time by serving those around them. Santa Rita's First Annual Serve-A-Thon will run through December 10.
This can mean helping in your community or with family members. It can be as simple as - holding open a door, helping those around us, or reading to a sibling. There will also be opportunities during lunch. You can also join other bobcats at Santa Rita on Saturday, December 9 at 9:30am for a campus clean up!
In addition to giving back we are hoping to raise important funds for our school programs - please share this link with friends and family to donate: https://paybee.io/@santaritael...
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR STUDENTS NAME AND TEACHER IN THE DONATION FORM. Prizes will be given for the class with the most minutes served AND highest donations received.
Disney’s Aladdin Jr. is based on the 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.
The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young performers!
Registration is NOW OPEN for 3rd - 6th graders up to the first 40 students who register. Every child who registers will get a part! The registration/participation fee is $220 and is due at the time of registration. You can submit checks to the Santa Rita office (payable to “Santa Rita PTA”) or pay via Paypal (https://paypal.me/SANTARITAPTA).
