Welcome to Week 2
Our 2021 - 2024 Strategic Improvement Plan is published on our school website (link provided below)
Check-in Assessment for Years 4 and 6
- Year 4 and Year 6 students will participate reading and numeracy check-in assessments during week 3.
- The check-in assessment is a NSW Department of Education online reading and numeracy assessment available to support schools to assess and monitor Year 4 and Year 6 students.
- The check-in assessments can supplement existing school practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy and to help teachers tailor their teaching more specifically to student needs.
- Students with disability may receive the same level of support during the assessment that they would normally receive in the classroom.
NAPLAN - Years 3 and 5
- The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is conducted each year for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in all government and non-government schools. This program, which has the support of all State and Territory Education Ministers, assesses the literacy and numeracy learning of students in all Australian schools.
- The results of these assessments provide important information to schools about what each student can do and are used to support teaching and learning programs.
- Parents receive a report indicating their child’s level of achievement. Each student’s achievement will be reported against the national reporting bands, national averages and national minimum standard.
- Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will complete NAPLAN in Week 4 (11th - 14th May).
- Additional information can be found at the links below.
Meet Teddy Churchill Khay!
Our PBL focus in the coming weeks will be around pet safety and classes will talk about how to approach animals, hygiene around animals and general information that will keep our students and Teddy safe. As Teddy has not had all of his vaccinations yet and is only just beginning his training, he will begin doing some short classroom visits under the supervision of Mrs Khay. Our hope is that once Teddy has been with us for some time and has undergone training, he will be able to spend longer periods of time in classrooms.

The service was conducted by our school executive, who led us through the NSW Education virtual ANZAC service. Representatives from each class within our school laid branches of Rosemary and eucalyptus leaves as a sign of respect.
The Last Post and the Rouse was played on trumpet by Mr Blyth. It was a very moving service that concluded with our National Anthem.
