Bertram second graders have been working hard learning about our state and our nation. We have memorized our pledges, sung our songs, created maps & located places on maps and identified symbols of our state & country.

Teachers are meeting by Google Meet or phone with the family of every student this month. Please assist your child's teacher by scheduling an appointment. Teachers will be sharing your child's strengths and some goals for the year. Your partnership is critical to your child's success at school. If you have not connected with your child's teacher, please reach out to them to schedule an appointment.

On Tuesday, October 27th, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Schreiber will be hosting a virtual, interactive parent night focused on the Title 1 program at Bertram Elementary. The event is posted on our school calendar with the link to join. You can also use the link below.

Please review the car rider map below. In the afternoon, we ask that all cars enter on the northeast side of the front parking lot. This will allow cars to pass by the Car Rider Pro sensor and form two orderly lines. The rightmost line is for those picking up students in PreK, Kinder, and 1st Grades from the gym. The left-most line is for those picking up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders from the pavilion. For cars picking up from the pavilion, please follow the traffic through the parking lot. This allows us to maximize space within our parking lot to avoid having cars stopped on FM 1174.

We appreciate all families participating in this system to allow for a safe and orderly dismissal.

On Monday, progress reports for the 2nd 6 Weeks will be available in Skyward for grades 2nd-5th grades. Please login and view your grades for the first 3 weeks of this grading period. The end of the 2nd 6 weeks is Thursday, October 29th. All students, in-person and remote, must have all assignments turned in by 3:30 pm on Thursday, October 29th.

Assignments that are missing at the end of the day on 10/29 will be converted to zeros. Please assist your child with turning in missing work. Your child's teacher can assist you if you need information about the exact assignments that are missing.

For our PreK and Kindergarten families: Please ensure that your child has a change of clothing in their backpack that includes a shirt, pants/shorts, socks, and underwear. Please pack them in a plastic grocery sack or a gallon size zip lock bag. If your child has an accident at school, we will have them change clothes, and soiled clothing will be returned in their backpack in the bag you provide.

For all families: The nurse is accepting donations of new or gently used, clean loose-fitting pants or shorts for boys or girls in sizes 4T-Youth Small/Youth Medium. If you have items to donate, you can send them in your child's backpack with a note that they are for the nurse. Thank you for considering.

1. Complete AT HOME self screening before getting on the bus or coming to school.
2. Face coverings for all bus riders, and students in grades 1st-5th. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for PreK and Kinder. Remember wearing a face mask reduces your child's chance of having to quarantine for close contact.
3. Bring your backpack including water bottle, snack, and lunchbox (if bringing lunch).

1. Visits to the school are by appointment. We will attempt to address situations by phone or Google Meet. In-person appointments can be scheduled if the situation requires. When visiting campus, please be prepared to show a valid photo ID.

2. If you do visit the school, face coverings are required for all adults at all times. This includes the office foyer area.

3. Due to COVID-19, we will not have any on campus volunteers at this time.

4. We are not accepting deliveries including forgotten lunches (hot meal will be provided by the cafeteria), birthday treats, and food orders.

5. If you need to make an occasional change to your child's transportation home, please use the Bertram Transportation Change email: ber-transportation@burnetcisd.net . Transportation changes must be emailed in no later than 1:30pm. Teachers will not be able to accept transportation changes.
