Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We can’t begin to express our thanks for Officer Chris Warner, one of our School Resource Officers (SRO), for his unwavering support in organizing the sponsorship of some of our Batavia families for the holidays. He has also been instrumental in organizing the Toy Drive for both the Batavia Police Department as well as for Batavia Schools. Because of his work, many people in our own community, in all three buildings, will be able to celebrate during the holiday season. SRO Warner has a big heart for our young people. The Batavia Police Department, as well as Batavia Local Schools, is better because of our collaboration with SRO Warner.
This week was the last full week before our winter break. Our high school staff has been working hard on keeping the students focused on completing work in hopes of setting them up for success upon our return on January 2, 2024.
Although we will have a short, three-day week beginning on Monday, December 18th, attendance next week is important. These days will be filled with some celebrations for “Spirit Week”, see information in the notes section below, and teachers are still instructing those days. Please make sure your students are coming to school every day.
Due to the short week, there will not be an edition of The BHS Express sent next week. As always, if you have questions, do not hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help.
Have a wonderful weekend and winter break!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Bulldog Families.
As we reach the end of our first semester, I want to provide some updates regarding a few safety additions. Each day, we find new cameras are being installed in our new building. This feature has been a wonderful addition to help us monitor and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
We will also be installing new sensors in all of our restrooms over winter break. These sensors will pick up multiple safety issues that could occur. Some of the features include aggression, vapes, and keywords such as “help” and will immediately send an alert to administration. This new equipment does not include video.
We are excited to have these new additions to help maintain a safe environment at Batavia High School.
Have a wonderful winter break.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING
- Parents must drop off students in the drop off line. We are now blocking the crosswalk between the sidewalk and the front of our building as we are concerned about our students' safety. When cars cut through the area between the sidewalk and the front of the building after we've cleared students through the main crosswalk on Bulldog Way, our students are put into a very dangerous situation. Thank you for following the drop off expectations that were communicated in the September 1, 2023 edition of The BHS Express.
