Around the School Spotlight

What a crazy week it’s been! I hope you have all stayed warm & safe. While I know most of Sherwood was spared from major weather damage, we had several families without power and many of our staff (who live outside of the area) experienced downed trees, gas leaks, power outages for multiple days, among other things. On Wednesday evening, I came by to check out the building and as you’ll see, our entrances looked like skating rinks.

We miss our kids and look forward to normalcy next week!

3-5TH GRADE BATTLE OF THE BOOKS (OBOB) PARTICIPANTS

If your 3rd-5th grader is participating in OBOB this year, they are invited to two optional after school study sessions held from 2:15-3:00. The session originally scheduled for Monday, January 22nd has been CANCELLED and rescheduled for Monday, January 29th. There is an additional session on Monday, February 5th to help prepare for this year's battles. Students can attend with or without their entire team to practice titles and authors and participate in practice battles. Please complete this Google Form or return the updated paper form your reader will bring home next week by Friday, January 26th if your child plans to participate in one or both sessions!

All OBOB participants will attend a training assembly hosted by Ms. Salm during the school day on Monday, January 22nd as well! Battles at Hawks View will begin on Friday, February 23rd. More info to come soon!

Multicultural Night

The Sherwood Multicultural Club is planning another outstanding event in March. If you are interested in performing from your culture (songs, dances, etc.), or if you are interested in volunteering during this event, please see the flyer here to sign up. Sign up due date is January 30, 2024.
