Good News
This week, we recognize Mrs. Harris, because she is positive and encouraging, all while promoting creativity and learning new things. We also recognize Mrs. Dingman and Mrs. Young for being loving and kind and for putting kids first. Next, we recognize Mrs. Miles for going above and beyond to meet the social-emotional needs of students. Our next recognition goes to Mrs. Rapp for greeting kids every morning, rain or shine, getting kids unloaded quickly and safely. Our final recognition for the week goes to Mrs. Fosket for helping students feel safe and being a great problem solver.
Thank you to these staff members and all the members of our wonderful school community!
If you would like to recognize a Navigator staff member, please complete this short form. Thank you for helping us celebrate this remarkable group of educators!
Teaching and Learning
Most M-STEP results and MAP results went home with students last week. We have a few classrooms that will be receiving theirs early this week. If you have any questions about your child's scores, please reach out to his/her teacher(s).
Health & Safety
While we are not requiring the wearing of masks inside our building, we do strongly recommend them. Masks are required for students who are riding the bus to and/or from school. We ask families to provide their own masks as we have a limited supply. We will continue to encourage lots of handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer. While we will have some hand sanitizer stations throughout the school, we encourage each student to carry his/her own.
We also ask that you monitor your child for COVID symptoms and any other illnesses. Please keep your child home if he/she is ill and report this to the Navigator office. We have managed to keep our quarantine numbers very low so far this year, and this is because of your diligence in monitoring your child's symptoms. We appreciate you!
You can find the PCS COVID Information Page here.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our learning community safe and healthy!
Before-School and End-of-Day Parent Loop
AM Drop Off:
Enter the drop-off loop from M-36 and follow the loop around the front of Pathfinder until you reach the drop-off area in front of Navigator. Please pull forward to the staff member assisting with drop off. This allows 5-6 cars to drop off students at once. Your child should be prepared to exit the vehicle on the sidewalk (passenger) side once you reach the front of Navigator. If your child needs extra time, please plan to park and walk your child across the loop, using the sidewalks and crosswalk. Please do not drop off your child before 8:25.
PM Pick Up:
Form two parallel lines through the pick-up loop. Please be sure to wrap the lines around the side of Pathfinder, stretching toward the back of the Navigator/Pathfinder complex. Do not wrap the lines toward M-36, as this causes traffic backups on the roadway. To do this, you may want to enter from McGregor Road. Students will be dismissed via PA as a member of our staff moves through the line-up. Please pull all the way up to the staff member assisting with pick up in order to safely allow 10-12 students to load safely.

Navigator PTO Halloween Social
The Navigator PTO is planning an after-school social for Navigator students. The Navigator PTO Halloween Social will be Thursday, October 21, right after school until 5:15. The event will include Halloween costumes, a costume contest, yard games, music, concessions for sale, and spending time with friends.
In order for this event to be successful we need YOU. We need many volunteers to supervise students, sell concessions, and keep our students safe as they move from Navigator to Wes Reader Field. We also need many yard games for the event. If you're interested in helping us with this fun school-wide event, please click here. Thank you!
Permission slips will come home next week.
