PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
There was quite a stir at PES on Wednesday morning, when students arrived and noticed that we now have a crab and a lobster in our touch tank! Thank you to Vanessa Waters for delivering them to PES, and to Callie Wells who is leading the charge in getting the tank operational. The students are absolutely thrilled to have the tank back in business. Check out the pictures on Facebook and our web page.
Speaking of business, did you know that the PTA Scholarship Craft fair raised $2,458 for the scholarship fund? Again, this was a return after a two-year hiatus due to COVID. This is just one of several fundraisers and events that PTA puts on during the year.
They are such an integral part of our school community, and provide many entertaining and enriching opportunities for our students. The group is always in need of additional volunteers and helpers. They meet on the first Thursday of each month at PES in the teachers' room. The meeting begins at 8:30AM and usually lasts about an hour.
I encourage you to join us and share your thoughts and ideas. For more information, you can contact Callie Wells at its.callie@gmail.com, Shana Ferrara at shana622@yahoo.com, or Annie Sarbanis at annie.sarbanis@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting on February 2nd.
READ-A-THON
Let's get ready to read, read, and read some more! Read for enjoyment, to learn, to explore, or just because. There are a million reasons to read and one of them is to support our upcoming fundraiser, which will begin at the end of this month and culminate with a schoolwide reading event right before February vacation. Watch this newsletter, Facebook, and our webpage for additional details.
