This is an international project to help raise awareness of womb cancer by using art and social media.


We are inviting submissions from around the world to help raise awareness of womb cancer, which despite being the 4th most common female cancer in the UK, gets hardly any media attention and there is no national awareness campaign.

Peach Postcard Project

Despite womb cancer being the 4th most common female cancer in the UK there is a serious lack of awareness regarding this cancer.
Many women who are diagnosed with it had never heard of it prior to their diagnosis and many other women think it’s a type of cervical or ovarian cancer or can be detected by a smear test.


So to try and help raise the profile of womb cancer we are launching the "Peach Postcard Project".
Peach is the awareness colour for womb cancer and the aim of the project is to get you to design a postcard using the colour peach. You can draw, paint, doodle, get creative and do a bit of collage – use whatever medium you want. Be creative and have fun.


Your postcard doesn’t have to be related to womb cancer but it must be peach!

When?

Here's what you do!

Get a plain postcard or a piece of card that measure 15cm x 10cm and on the front put your design.
Turn it over and on the left put your name and address and email address (clearly written) and the title of the piece if you want to give it one and on the right put my address (details below)
Then post it to me!

Make sure if you are not in UK to use the correct postage to UK. If you make a 3d image or collage then you can pop it in an envelope but make sure you still put your contact details on the back of the postcard.
Deadline for submission is 31st July 2015.

Postcards cannot be returned.

This project is open to anyone regardless of age, sex or skill level.

The aim of the project.

The aim of the project is to raise much needed awareness of womb cancer and I am hoping to use the postcards as part of the womb cancer awareness campaign in September.


The postcards will be featured on the website and we are looking into various other ways of using them to raise awareness. We'll keep you posted on that!
