A Note from Dr. Hooks
Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,
Thank you to the families and staff who have already shared such thoughtful feedback around the DCPS launch of Summer Acceleration Academies. We are excited to be able to provide our students with various enrichment opportunities during a summer session. If you would like to join members of the LSAT and Hybrid Learning Task Force, in our next Recovery Community Corps session, please feel free to email hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov, to secure the meeting link. The next meeting is scheduled to be held on March 12, 2021 at 9:00am.
Term 4 begins on April 19, 2021 and the team is looking closely at possible options for inviting additional students to attend in-person or CARE classes. As previously noted, there are numerous limitations around cohort sizes, physical social distancing requirements, and staffing structures, as aligned to DC Health and DCPS guidance. But, as we develop creative solutions, we will share those with our families.
Please keep you and your loved ones safe. For resources and information about the District of Columbia Government’s coronavirus (COVID-19) response and recovery efforts, please visit coronavirus.dc.gov. Please visit dcpsreopenstrong.com or backtoschool.dc.gov for DCPS resources.
“One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency.” ~ Maya Angelou
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Calvin Hooks, Principal
