PTO Plans for Teacher Appreciation Parade
Teacher Appreciation Week is next week and we want to show our AMAZING Sperreng Middle School teachers and staff some virtual love.
Please join us for a celebration parade down Concord School Rd. that will be recorded/shared via Facebook Live. Decorate your cars and/or make fun signs to share how much you appreciate all that these special people do for our kids.
We will meet in the Farmer's Club parking lot Wednesday, 5/6/20, and at 6:30 pm we will proceed toward Tesson Ferry Rd. We will do a turn around in the offices parking lot across the street from the school and then head back toward the Farmer's Club. The recording camera will be located across the street from the SMS pickup/dropoff exit - be sure to wave, honk, and happy yell towards it!!
EVERYONE MUST REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLES! We cannot drive or congregate on school property. This event is sponsored by the Sperreng PTO and not the school.

STUCO Update
Fourth Quarter & Semester 2 Grades
Fourth quarter grades should be up-to-date and visible in the SIS parent and student portal. Grades are calculated from submitted virtual assignments. Unsubmitted assignments will show as a blank grade or will be noted as missing/exempt.
Semester 2 grades: Semester 2 grades are not currently visible in the SIS parent and student portal. As a reminder, the final semester 2 grades will be hold harmless. This means that the semester 2 grade can only be equal to or higher than the 3rd quarter grade. Even if a student's fourth quarter grade appears lower than 3rd quarter, the final semester 2 calculation will not factor in assignment grades that lower the overall semester grade.
We appreciate the continued support we are receiving on grading and feedback. As always, please reach out to your classroom teacher should you have questions. Our ultimate goals is to keep students engaged in learning and to provide feedback. If your grade is causing you worry, don't hesitate to give us a call or email. We want you to feel supported and successful.

No 4th Quarter Progress Reports
Learning looks different for every student in our current virtual learning climate, and with a grading structure for 4th quarter that prioritizes student engagement, progress reports may be an inaccurate report of actual learning. For that reason, there will be no progress reports for 4th quarter.
Virtual Learning Will Continue Through May 21
Lindbergh Schools, in cooperation with St. Louis area school districts, is extending virtual learning through the end of this school year. The last day of school for students will be May 21. This collective, areawide decision follows recommendations from local health departments and was made in collaboration with government officials. We will continue to follow their guidance as we make decisions with thoughtful consideration for the health of students, staff and families in our entire community. Families received an email on April 9 with additional details. You can also visit our COVID-19 website.
