What is IDT | Intro to Digital Technology:
Successful completion of the IDT course work can earn students a high school credit. This course is designed for high school students to understand, communicate, and adapt to a digital world as it impacts their personal life, society, and the business world. Students will get expose to basic knowledge in hardware, software, programming, web design, IT support, and networks are all taught in a computer lab with hands-on activities and project focused tasks.
What is IBT | Intro to Business Technology:
Area of Focus
- Demonstrate employability skills required by business and industry
- Apply technology as a tool to increase productivity to create, edit, and publish industry-appropriate documents
- Demonstrate proficiency in word processing through creating, editing, and publishing professional-appearing business documents
- Analyze and integrate leadership skills and management functions within the business environment
- Demonstrate understanding of the concept of marketing and its importance to business ownership
- Use professional oral, written, and digital communication skills to create, express, and interpret information and ideas
- Demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship through recognizing a business opportunity, how to start a business based on the recognized opportunity, and basics of how to operate and maintain that business
- Understand, interpret, and use accounting principles to make financial decisions
- Develop effective money management strategies and understand the role and functions of financial institutions
- Research and interpret the various risks involved in operating a business while determining the role of insurance for a business
- Examine basic human resources and the legal aspects of a business while incorporating the methods into business practices
- Analyze the relationship between leadership development, school and community service projects with a career in the business and technology industry
- Demonstrate appropriate use of literacy skills
Attention RISING 7th and 8th Graders
Theatre Arts
Students enrolled in Theatre Arts classes will study Pantomime, Voice, Improvisation, Characterization, and Reading/Writing Scripts following a traditional plot order. They will examine formal and informal dramatic production and communication, and will learn to identify plot structure and themes within a dramatization scene by scene. Students will work collaboratively to research necessary technical work that goes into productions including costumes, set, props, sound, lighting, and structure/organization of all the elements, focusing on what impact these technical elements have on the production. They will also explore different historically and/or culturally significant forms of theatre and a wide range of modern applications for the art of acting beyond theatre, and will demonstrate appropriate theatre etiquette every time they function as an audience member, performer, or technician. This is a year-long class. Students will be expected to be fully engaged, give 100% effort, and be willing to take risks.

LMS Faculty v. Longhorn Basketball Teams
The players vs faculty game will be played on Thur 3/24 after school. The cost is $5 and must be paid on My Payments Plus (Events/Activities tab and then Athletics). Only 200 tickets will be sold and the deadline to purchase is Tue 3/22.
Students will stay after school to attend and must have transportation ready to pick them up at 5:45 PM in front of the middle school. Concessions will be sold (CASH ONLY). See Coach Rabek if you have any questions.
