Play it Safe!® Information
As part of our commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, we will be hosting Play it Safe!®. This is a child abuse awareness and prevention program that has been approved by the Student Health Advisory Council to be implemented in all HISD elementaries for which parents were given the choice to opt in at the beginning of the year on the registration form "23-24 Consent to Abuse Prevention,"
If, however, you did not provide consent for your student to participate in the program, please be assured that your decision has been duly noted, and your child will not be part of the Play it Safe!® sessions.
Play it Safe!® is designed to educate children on recognizing potentially abusive behavior, providing them with the tools to respond to threatening situations, and encouraging them to report abuse to a safe adult. The program incorporates age-appropriate scripts and videos to ensure that the content is engaging and relatable for children of all ages.
To create a comfortable and familiar environment for our students, the presentations will be grade level-based. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and will include an age-appropriate script followed by a 10-20 minute movie.
We believe that an open and informed dialogue about child abuse prevention is crucial in empowering our students to protect themselves and their peers. By participating in Play it Safe!®, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and confidence to recognize and respond to potential threats.
We encourage you to click here or visit PlayItSafe.org to dig deeper into each lesson plan assigned to your child’s age group. This will help you understand exactly what your child/children will be taught. If you have any concerns or questions about the content of the program, please feel free to contact Sarahbeth Hale at 806-553-5119 or sarahbeth@bridgecac.org .

Eating Lunch with Students
Eating Lunch with Students
5 parents/guardians a day to come in and eat with their children. Anyone who enters the building is required to present an ID to run through our RAPTOR system. If you would like to come and eat with your child any of these days, please click the link below to schedule your day and time. We look forward to seeing you! Please note that parents should only go to the cafeteria and not the classrooms. Thank you for understanding.
Please be aware that we will not be able to pull students from instruction to eat at a different lunch time. You might need to schedule multiple days if you are trying to eat with each child. Feel free to call the office if you have any questions. If you are a Watch D.O.G. scheduled for the day or a staff member at Northwest, you do not need to fill out the form below.
