Here is what is happening in our Building
LHS Homecoming and Dance
As you probably have heard, we have moved Homecoming to Saturday October 28, 2023. The parade will start at 12:00PM followed by the Blue Knights football game at 1:00PM. The LHS Homecoming dance for high school students will be from 7:00- 10:00 PM.
Blue Knights Food Drive
The Blue Knights will be having a food drive to benefit the food pantry at the football game on Saturday, October 28th.
FREE admission to the game with non perishable donations!!!
Please support our local families in need.
Trunk or Treat
I would like to thank the Lunenburg Business Association and President Wendy Drennan for being flexible and accommodating in moving their Trunk or Treat Celebration to Sunday, October 29 from 12:00- 3:00PM.
LMHS Jazz Ensembles
7th and 8th graders, and all high schoolers: The LMHS jazz band is starting up this coming Tuesday at 5:00pm. If you are interested in joining, please attend the first rehearsal which will run about an hour and a half. If you would like more information about jazz band and what it involves beforehand, please see Mr. Sheldon in the music wing.
6th Graders: 6th grade will be having their own, separate jazz band that will be on Tuesday from 4:00-4:45. If any 6th grader would like to get an introduction to jazz, please have them come this Tuesday for the first rehearsal! If you would like more information about jazz band and what it involves beforehand, please see Mr. Sheldon in the music wing.
National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
The National Honor Society induction ceremony is Monday, October 30th at 6:30 pm in the LMHS Auditorium.
LHS After School Help
We will begin our Lunenburg High School After School Program for students starting Oct. 11th. The program will provide academic support for high school students and run from 2:30-3:30 on Monday-Thursday each week. This program will be at no cost to families and will be held in the library of the Lunenburg Middle-High School building. A snack and water will be provided to students who attend each day. Please fill out and submit the registration form below if your student will participate in session one of our After School Program.

Electronic Recycling fundraiser
Electronic recycling fundraiser has been moved to Saturday, November 4 and Saturday, November 11 from 9:00 - 1:00 both days.. We will accept computers, printers, phones, appliances, air conditioners, audio and video equipment and more! If you want to recycle these items, please think of saving them for our fundraiser!
Virtual Curriculum and Data Forum
We will hold a virtual curriculum and data forum for families of LMHS students on October 26, 2023 at 6:00 PM. This forum will help families with the interpretation of MCAS and iReady data and allow for any questions that families may have. We will also introduce the new Amplify English language arts curriculum we are using in grades 6-8.
National Honor Society Tutoring Program
National Honor Society is running a peer tutoring program for this school year. The program will run every Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:30 in the High School project room and students from both the middle and the high school level are welcome to attend.

We are excited to announce that many of our Seniors are moving towards completing and submitting college applications.
PSATs: Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at LHS during the school day. For more information please see Mr. Cuillo’s September 20th email. If you did not receive the announcement, please feel free to reach out to him at jciullo@lunenburgschools.net.
AP Exams Announcement - This year the College Board’s deadline to order AP exams is prior to November 15, 2023. In order to not receive a late fee penalty please order and pay for AP exam(s) in full between October 4, 2023 and November 13, 2023. The cost of each AP exam is $102.00. Lunenburg High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exam(s). Students requiring financial assistance should contact Mr. Ciullo; jciullo@lunenburgschools.net or Mrs. Foster; triciafoster@lunenburgschools.net, in the counseling office. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) - The Counselors continued with SEL advisories in classes this week. Each class will have one meeting over the course of Q1.
Post-Secondary Planning - Small group planning seminars have ended. Seniors should be scheduling time to work with their counselors on their post-secondary plans.
Air Force ROTC High School Scholarship Program - Interested in an Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) scholarship. The AFROTC High School Scholarship Program Application deadline is December 31, 2023. Please note, SATs are required. AFROTC is a 4-year program that allows college students to commission as officers in the Air Force or Space Force while earning a college degree. AFROTC teaches cadets about leadership theory, physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, and much more. See Mrs. Foster or visit afrotc.com for additional information.

Upcoming college visits are posted in Naviance. Students must sign up in Naviance. When students sign up, please print or screen shot the confirmation and add the visit to your calendar. Students should notify their Teacher well in advance of the visit. One or two days before the scheduled visit see Mrs. Foster in the School Counseling Office to obtain a Pass. On the day of the visit, please remind your teacher that you are attending a college visit and then show the Pass. Report to the School Counseling Office at the scheduled time and sign-in.

MWCC Dual Enrollment Information Sessions - MWCC offers dual enrollment information sessions the first Wednesday of each month from 6pm - 7pm.
Work Permits - Students age 14 - 17 years old must complete an Employment Permit Application before starting a new job. An Employment Permit Application can be obtained from the following link: https://www.mass.gov/doc/youth-employment-permit-application/download.
Please follow the instructions in the Employment Permit Application Form. Once you have completed the Employment Permit Application Form, please bring the completed Form to Mrs. Cooney in the Main Office.
