7th Grade Outdoor Experience
May 24th -May 26th is the 7th grade outdoor experience. It is a three-day trip focused on outdoor and service learning. Field trip form/consent notice needs to be filled out and turned in before Tuesday, May 24th.
Sexual Health Education Lessons
Reminder: comprehensive sexual health education lessons
Students in grades 7 and 8 will be taking part in comprehensive sexual health lessons. Eighth grade lessons will take place during CCR and PE class periods May 20 through May 27 (first class was postponed due to staff shortage and will be rescheduled). Seventh grade lessons will take place May 31 through June 3 during Spanish and PE class periods. Lessons will be taught by PE teachers.
Parents and guardians can review the Positive Prevention Plus curriculum and may remove their children from these lessons with a written request. (RCW 28A.300.475). Families who wish to opt their children out of these lessons must have turned an opt-out form to the school office. Students who opt-out of the lessons will be doing schoolwork or reading independently.

Final Call For Yearbooks!!
May 27th is the day! We have a limited amount to sell so please send in payment for a yearbook whether you have turned in a slip to reserve or haven't yet paid.

Early Parent Pickups
If you are needing to pick up your student before the end of day, please let the office know before 2:00. We have had an influx of parents picking up without notice to the office. This creates a delay in your student getting to you in the time frame you need. Please call (360)398-2291 or email lblankenship@meridian.wednet.edu.
Two Day Mini Camp For All Girls Entering K-8th Grade!
Where: Meridian High School gym.
When: June 1st to June 2nd from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Cost: $60 this includes a t-shirt and basketball.
Waiver forms are in the office.

8th Grade Promotion
June 14th is the scheduled date for our 8th grade promotion! More details to come.
Invitation to Online Safety Presentation
Meridian families and children over 14 are invited to attend a presentation on online safety at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 at Judson Hall (516 Main Street, Lynden, WA). The presentation is free and provided by the Lynden Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The presentation provides families with information about the potential risks of online environments including cyberbullying and internet addiction, and how to keep children safe. The presentation is geared for families with children of all ages. Families with questions may contact Det. Torok at Lynden Police Department, 360-354-2828.
