Message from East Hill Interim Principal
Dear East Hill Elementary School Families,
My name is Robert Leo and as many of you know, I have been serving as the East Hill Interim Principal during Mrs. Meskos' absence. I owe her a debt of gratitude for setting me up for success at East Hill with her leadership. I am also grateful for the dedicated and passionate team of educators here who work tirelessly for the benefit of our students. This past week, students have been learning about the Positivity Project character trait of Gratitude. Other highlights include the 4th grade field trip to West Genesee Intermediate School to see their production of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and a visit from Officer Brand for CODE. I had the good fortune of attending the PTA meeting that took place on November 15th where I learned that they are close to meeting their membership goals for the year. Even if you aren't able to attend PTA events during the school day, your membership dues go a long way in supporting our students. Our teachers are looking forward to discussing your children's progress next week during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Please note that Monday and Tuesday are half-days for students. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and look forward to leading East Hill until Mrs. Meskos returns. It has been an absolute joy getting to know the students at East Hill!
Sincerely,
Rob

Emergency Closing Information is Important
Announcements about school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissal will be posted on the News Headlines section of the District website home page. They will also be broadcast on X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the following stations which you can access by clicking here.
SchoolMessenger communications software allows us to send emails, texts, and make phone calls. (Phone calls will be used for emergency situations only.)
Parent/Guardians and staff will NOT need to sign-up to receive information from schools that you are registered for in ParentVue. (You will have the option to opt-out if you choose not to receive emails, texts, and/or phone calls. To receive texts, you also have to opt-in per the instructions in the Tips article below. )
Are you Receiving All of our Communications? Helpful Tips about the SchoolMessenger Communication System:
- To be sure that you are receiving all emails sent from the District/schools/teachers, please periodically check your spam/junk/promotions folder for emails with @westgenesee.org, then mark that they are not spam/junk/promotions.
- To be sure that you are receiving text messages this year from WGCSD or your school(s), text a "Y" or "Yes" to 67587.
If you still have questions about receiving emails and/or text from WGCSD, please email them to publications@westgenesee.org.
Cold Weather Gear
The cooler weather is upon us! Please keep in mind that our students will continue to go outside for recess daily. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather each day: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.
Also, please remember to label your child's cold-weather clothing. You will be so glad you did!
