Aloha is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and kindness and is a greeting used to say both hello and goodbye. Well I am having to say Aloha to my Village family. I have resigned my position as Village principal at the end of this school year. While many factors played into this decision, the most important one is that I need to be closer to home and with my mom. It was a very difficult decision to make but one that I know is the right one for my family.
As many of you all know, I live in Ripon, California. I have commuted to Santa Rosa and stayed in Santa Rosa with a wonderful family during the week while working. On weekends, I went home to help take care of my mom for these last 4 years. This was okay in the beginning, but my mom has increasingly needed more assistance this past year and she cannot be alone any longer. My mom has been an amazing mother who took care of me and now it is my turn to take care of her.
I have truly enjoyed and value my 4 years at Village as Principal. I have had an incredible time getting to know families, teachers and especially my kids. I will miss you all but will always have everybody in my heart forever.
I am continuing working hard at Distance Learning for the remainder of the year. Please let me know if you need anything. Whatever you need, I am here to serve you all as we all figure out how to handle this new normal.
