Student Schedule
Typical Daily Schedule
7:55 am Supervision begins. Students may go to playground.
8:10 am Instruction Begins/Breakfast After the Bell
9:50 am Morning Recess
11:20am-12:40pm Lunch/Recess for Heights students grades 3-5
1:20pm Afternoon Recess
2:35 pm Dismissal (earlier dismissal at 1:35pm on Wednesdays)
What is Breakfast After the Bell?
Heights Elementary School will be having Breakfast After the Bell starting at 8:10am. During this time, students will be learning about what it means to be a good citizen. We are starting Character Strong this year. Character Strong is a Social Emotional Learning Curriculum. The elementary version of this is PurposeFULL People.
Character Strong/PurposeFULL People
PurposeFULL People is grounded in research and focused on fostering the Whole Child with vertically-aligned lessons that teach SEL and character, side-by-side.
Character Development
Character education involves developing thoughtful, healthy, and kind human beings. Our character is informed by our personal values and choices.
SEL Competencies
Self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
STUDENT DROP OFF and PICK UP!
Drop Off
Our parent pick-up has changed a bit this year. Please be patient and follow the lead of Heights Staff.
2. Class starts at 8:10am.
Pick-Up
1. Due to the amount of traffic, No turning East on Miller Ave.
2. Please drive WEST on Miller Ave. and turn into the Heights parking lot.
3. Pull forward as directed by the Heights Staff.
4. Hang your student pick-up name tag.
5. Staff will not allow students to enter a car until it has come to a complete stop!
Remember your student's safety is our first priority. Please follow the directions of staff and be courteous to other drivers.
Pick-Up Tips
2. If possible, park down Miller Ave. and have your student walk to your location.
3. Pick-up students at 2:45pm. By coming 10 minutes later, you will miss most of the traffic.
4. Have students ride the bus.

Heights Elementary Academic Goals:
Goal/Priority #1 (G1)
- 75% of all 3rd graders will read at grade level by the Spring of 2025 as measured by the iReady.
Goal/Priority #2 (G2)
- 75% of all 5th graders will perform at grade level in math by the Spring of 2025 as measured by the iReady.
Goal/Priority #3 (G3)
- 70% of all EL qualified students will exit EL services by the end of 5th grade in 2025 as measured by the WIDA.
