This annual survey is a requirement of our school charter, and it also provides valuable insights that help inform GLOBE's continuing improvement.

It is very important that all parents/guardians complete the survey when you receive it; it should only take a few minutes of your time.

We are thrilled to announce that this year's 2022 GLOBE Auction, so far, has made $79,950! There are still a few items left in the GLOBE Auction Fire Sale! Shop now, and the final total could easily reach $80,000.

The PTCC Auction committee is grateful for those that participated both online and in person, and to the incredible group of volunteers that made it such a wonderful, prosperous 24-hours. The money raised will go to fund school events and teacher grants next year.

The month of May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your support!

The GLOBE Academy Chorus will hold their spring concert at the Upper Campus parking lot, from 5pm, on Thursday, May 12.

This year, Upper Campus will hold their Field Day on Friday, May 13 (grades 4 and 5 only), with Lower Campus following on Monday, May 16 (kindergarten through 3rd grade).

Important reminder

Please make sure your student has a good breakfast and brings with them a large water bottle and wears sunscreen and/or a hat.

Free popsicles

PTCC will be providing dairy-free popsicles (please inform both your child and their teacher, if they are not allowed to have one).

Volunteering

Only official volunteers will be allowed at Field Day this year. LC volunteer spots are already full. If you’d like to volunteer at UC Field Day on 5/13, click here.

Attire

Athletic wear. Shorts/pants, tennis shoes, and a shirt in the following colors if possible:

Kindergarten - White

1st grade - Red

2nd grade - Yellow

3rd grade - Blue

4th grade: Spanish track - Blue | Mandarin track - Green | French track - Yellow

5th grade: Spanish track - Purple | Mandarin track - Orange | French track - Red

Lower Campus

A friendly reminder that the parks at Lower Campus are not open to the public during school hours, including parents. The park is for enrolled students from 7:30am to 4:30pm. If a teacher and/or administrator asks you to leave, please do so without debate.

At carpool, be nice to one another! :)

Please be respectful when using carpool. We appreciate that everyone has busy schedules, especially as the school year comes to a close, but remember our CREST values. A little patience and understanding goes a long way. Let's stay safe, take our time, and ride out this 2021-22 school year with a big smile!

Early release, Friday May 20

The last day of school, Friday, May 20, is an early release day for students. Dismissal will begin at 11:30am. All students need to be picked up by noon. There will not be after-care on that day.

Lost and Found

The Lower Campus Lost and Found is overflowing. Please try and visit the school to search for any lost items before the end of the school year. The PTCC will donate all remaining items that are left, as of May 20th.

Volunteer openings for 2022-2023 school year

Yearbooks will be distributed on Thursday, May 12. Elementary students will receive them via their homeroom. Middle School students will receive them in class by the end of the day.

If you have not ordered one, they can be purchased at the UC front office from Friday, May 13. Payment is by check only, made payable to The GLOBE Academy, for $50.

Flag Football

The flag football awards banquet takes place today, Wednesday, May 11, from 4pm to 5:30pm, at Silverbacks Field. There will be a scrimmage, followed by awards and refreshments. We look forward to celebrating the conclusion of a great season. Any and all parents are welcome to attend.

GLOBE has applied for a Spanish Conversation and Cultural Assistant (Auxiliares) grant from the Spanish Embassy. Pending approval, we will need amazing GLOBE families to share their home with an Auxiliar! Weekly COVID-19 testing

Viral Solutions will be back on campus again on Thursday, May 12, to provide all GLOBE students and staff with access to free rapid antigen testing. The positivity rates of each testing clinic can be found on tab 2 of the Data Dashboard. Results will be updated the day after each testing clinic occurs. If you would like to enroll your student in testing for the semester, you can fill out the consent form here. If you have questions about the testing process or how to receive your student's results, please read the FAQ flyer.

We understand that plans can change. If your student’s plans to return to GLOBE have changed from “yes” to “no” between now and the start of the 2022 school year, please complete this form. Having an accurate count for the school year allows us to plan and budget appropriately or allows a student from our waiting list to fill the open spot.

This newsletter is intended for the families of GLOBE students. Please share your feedback, so we can continue to improve how we disseminate information about what's happening at school.
