Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams
We are excited that DCPS has approved Hyde-Addison to have Girls and Boys Cross Country teams this year for 4th and 5th graders. Our students will represent our core values as they compete against other schools in the district, and we are so proud!

Please sign your child up below before August 29 at 3:00pm to participate. The coach, Ms. Link, will be in touch with additional information on August 29. Practices will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on August 30 and ending on October 27. Students will meet Ms. Link at dismissal and should be picked up at 4:45pm unless they are attending aftercare with Champions. Please note that much of practice will take place off of Hyde-Addison's campus, due to the nature of the sport; more specific information will be provided. There is no cost to families.
To be eligible, DCIAA requires that your child:
- Has all participation forms completed
- Is up-to-date on all required immunizations
- Is currently in grade 4 or 5

At this time, the following dates are tentatively scheduled for Cross Country events, all located at Colmar Manor Community Park:
-Wednesday, September 21 at 12:00pm for boys and girls (Lafayette Invitational)
-Wednesday, October 5 at 12:00pm for boys and girls (meet)
-Tuesday, October 25 at 1:00pm for boys and girls (Championship)
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run has partnered with Hyde-Addison for years, and we were even featured on CBS news last year! Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a 10-week positive youth development program for girls in grades 3-5. There is a team of 6-15 girls who work with community coaches before school. Their focus is on having fun, making friends, increasing their physical activity, and learning important lessons to last a lifetime. At the end of the sessions, there is a celebratory 5K event to end the season which is also open to friends and family!
The team will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00am-school arrival beginning the week of September 12 and ending the week of November 20. Program Registration is open until Sunday, September 25th, but the first sessions are are the week of September 12, so don't wait to sign up!

Standard Price: $215
Financial access to the program is of the utmost importance to our council. We offer fees on a sliding scale, $215-$10 for the in-person program:
