What A Great First Week!
We’re off to a great start here! Of course we had the usual wrinkles that accompany the start of every school year but we always quickly iron those out: it’s been so good to have all of our kids back! Since relationships provide the foundation for yielding results, teachers invest a lot of time in creating a safe and healthy classroom community this week. In fact, my 11th grade son’s homework last night was to create an “about me” bag for one of his AP classes: relationships yield results.
MVES Magnets
Your child(ren) should have brought home a Mountain View magnet this week. I’m so proud to be a part of this school and am excited about the direction we’re headed! While we always want to be cognizant of what we’re putting on our cars (and posting online) about our kids, school magnets are considered quite safe and nebulous.

Calling All Green Thumbs!
Speaking of needing help, the garden space located close to the playground has grown to become a great space for learning and exploration amongst our students. The area consists of 8 garden beds filled with produce, perennials, herbs and succulents. We are currently seeking eight families who would care for one of the garden beds. The care would involve winter prep of thinning and cutting back and helping to add soil and mulch to each bed. Each family can check on their bed as often as needed to fit family schedules. Guidance will be provided to explain expectations of care. At times the students will also be able to assist with care and upkeep during the school day. Please contact Ms. Roeschley if you are open to helping! lroeschley@rockingham.k12.va.us
