The Journey from Student with Dyslexia and ADHD to Special Education Teacher
Anya’s incredibly supportive parents read books to her, taught her to self-advocate, and kept her focused on education through her young adult years. Now a special education teacher, Anya wants to make sure the next generation has the same experience and support she had as a child. Watch her inspiring story.
Being a Scientist with Dyslexia
Dr. Gabrielle Rappolt-Schlichtmann was diagnosed with dyslexia as a child. As she grew up, she developed a passion for science. Now, as the chief scientist for EdTogether, Gabrielle draws on her personal experience and knowledge of science to study stigma in school.
The goal? To reimagine schools so they can be more inclusive and supportive of all students.
Watch as she talks about her personal struggles, why she was drawn to science, and how she ended up working to help kids with dyslexia.
