Rob has been intimately involved in the treatment industry for many years now. With his experience in crisis interventions, sober companioning, and working at other treatment facilities Rob brings a level of expertise second to none to the admissions department of Avalon Malibu. Having attempted sobriety multiple times his own personal journey allows him to reflect and relate to clients and the people who love them in his own unique way. Over the past 8 years he’s helped people first hand start the process to their own recovery by taking that big step. Rob’s experience allows him to bring his own unique brand of passion, enthusiasm, and warmth to prospective clients and their families.

I believe that talk, encouragement, support and education help, so I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Licensed since 1994, working in settings from outpatient chemical dependency to inpatient locked psychiatric units, and everything in between). I believe that having a strong and healthy body feels great, and leads to better self care overall, so I became a Personal Fitness Trainer (Running Fitness Boot Camps and personal training, since 2010). I believe that calming the mind and reconnecting to who you really are is healing, so I became a yoga teacher (teaching at Yoga studios, gyms, and privately since 2010). Addiction can turn your entire world upside down. At Avalon Malibu we help you set it right. I bring my experiences and skills, my humility and gratitude, as part of the wellness team in doing all that I can to help facilitate each client’s personal growth. Treating the Mind, Body and Spirit as they enter, and continue their journey on the path to recovery.

Justin studied addiction, culture, and identity at the New School in New York City, where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He has lectured at various schools and universities on the subjects of culture and addiction. He has extensive experience with personal advancement in recovery as a mentor, providing individualized guidance and motivation to clients of various special needs. Justin specializes in the development of physical wellness, spiritual awareness, and cognitive-behavioral functioning to support goal-oriented therapy. He is well-known in Los Angeles as a counselor and life coach for successful sober lifestyle integration. He is also a reputed educator on addiction and diverse approaches to recovery. Justin provides one-on-one therapy, experiential groups, and aftercare support. He completed a second masters in counseling psychology with World University in Ojai, where he continues to study Thanatology. Justin has appeared on TMZ, MTV, and BET as a real-time counselor.
