"Robinson Middle School will ensure high quality learning that is rooted in excellence for each student."
From The Desk Of Your Principal:
Dear Robinson Middle Families,
RMS would like to welcome our newest school administrator, Mr. John Bagby. Due to increased enrollment numbers, Mr. Bagby will work halftime at Robinson Middle School (every afternoon) and work with Robinson High School in the mornings. We are excited to have Mr. Bagby join our Robinson Middle School Family. Please read more about Mr. Bagby in the later part of the newsletter.
This week, our administrative team will meet with each grade level during Advisory Time to discuss the importance of making positive choices and also review various components of the school/ district handbook. Our goal is also to ensure that our students treat each other with dignity, respect, and understand the need for rules/ regulations that are aimed to support all students. Lastly, we will cover the importance of knowing how and when to report incidents that can make our school environment safe and comfortable for all. We thank you for your support of our school team.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on September 9, 2019 throughout the day. This year, our approach to conferences will be different from previous years to make our conversations more meaningful (given each teacher has about 150 students on his/her roster). We ask for you to review your child’s progress thus far and consider meeting only with teachers in classes that your child may need some more direction or support to ensure his/her success (ranging from social/emotional, academics, homework practices, and communications). Please know that we encourage parental involvement and communication to celebrate your child successes because conferences are not the only time we should communicate about your child’s progress. We encourage all families to review HAC, email teachers, make phone calls and stay connected as a partner in your child’s education. Please look for further communication from classroom teachers about the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences.
A few members of our school community have approached our leadership team with positive ways to engage Robinson students and staff over topics appropriate for the middle school years. Each month, we will work together as a community to bring awareness to issues that support our students. The month of September is Suicide Prevention Month. On September 10, 2019, we ask that all students and staff wear a yellow tee shirt or school spirit wear to remember those affected by suicide and to raise awareness.
Have a great month of September!
